Hayward SPX0715BA3 Black Key Cover and Handle Assembly Replacement for Hayward Multiport Valves and Filters

Perfect fit. My other one was leaking and now no leaks! Easy to replace! Someone commented that it's packwards from the other one and that tjey just asked Hayward for the sticmer that went with the last model and they sent it. All you have to do is put this on the other way..backwards from the other one and it works the same. Matter of fact there is an indicator on the side of it that matches up with the fitted part so you know which way it goes on. Worked like a charm!

I had the old style, flat wide handle. The top developed a small crack, so I had to replace it. This handle lifts the inside higher making it easier to disengage. Works lake a champ. The company, “in the swim” was stellar in their response to a missing part I had also ordered. Quickly corrected. I’ve bookmarked them for future orders. 10 bolt pattern. If you alternate like a car rim, it snugs up wonderfully. No leaks! I’m happy with this purchase

Here are a few installation tips. First, there is a flat side on one of the "ears" (hard to see in the pics) and that will align with a flat spot on one of the ears of the valve body. Second, be sure to put the lever in the center between any actual position before beginning to tighten the screws. This will compress the spring up and let you install the valve without putting any pressure on the top as you tighten the screws. If you don't do that, then there's a very good chance you will break off on or more of the points where the screws go in. The material this is made of is VERY brittle. Snug all of the screws but do not tighten them. Once they are all snugged down, then tighten them one at a time and go diagonally across from screw to screw. I would also suggest you replace the O ring and use some waterproof lubricant to help the seal... seal. I also added a bit of lubricant on the face of the gasket inside the valve body. Hope this helps someone. If you don't do these things there's a very good chance you will be ordering another one very shortly.

Broke the handle off the original and was going to replace the whole thing until I found this. It's an exact replacement and took less than 10 minutes to replace. Very simple and it works just the same as the original.

This is just what we needed. It was easy to install, thanks to a couple of hints from another reviewer. (Read reviews, people!). Happily it arrived much earlier than originally stated. So far, so good!
