Faced with a porch-full of fir posts with a failed oil finish, I was making no progress with a 5" random orbital sander with heavy grit paper. I was about to fall back on my trusty old belt sander, but do not use that enough to guarantee I would not leave gouges. That sander would also leave a LOT of work in making joints match the easy-to-sand middle portions.I decided to have one last try, using a 6" sander.I got the sander and looked for coarse paper. Not under 60 grit was available locally.Then I found this online.As long as I kept changing sheets, it cut the old finish neatly in FAR less time than I had been taking with the 5" sander. Important to note: the paper was dull enough to NOT cut the finish FAR before my fingers said it had lost it's tooth!On wood without that deep, nasty finish, this paper could cut effectively until it DID feel like it was dull.This is a GREAT alternative to taking a belt sander to a porch post! It is especially effective used with the 1/4" setting on a Ridgid 6" sander with a small Ridgid vacuum pulling dust through a small Dust Deputy.I'll likely try other Dura-Gold products in the future.

I bought this to go with my 6" Bosch sander- specifically to use with a hard sanding pad for prepping pine tabletops. I always sand with dust extraction so that is the first thing that gives you better mileage with paper- but honestly, this stuff is great. I typically bounce between Diablo, the 3m purple discs and harbor freight paper. I've never been able to tell the difference in the 3 and even tried the Diablo mesh. When I bought my 6" sander I bought this to go with it. I was amazed at how long it stays sharp and how little it clogs. Maybe it has to do with the sander or hard sanding pad but I am very happy with this paper.

I would give negative stars if I could. This stuff is absolutely useless if it gets the slightest bit damp (it falls apart). The sand bonded to the paper dulls immediately and clogs. I have been doing this for a long time and this is the worst quality da paper I've ever used. I bought a second box just to make sure it wasn't a bad production run and it was just as bad as the first. Do not buy this garbage, spend the extra couple of bucks on higher quality.

These seem to clog or wear down super fast. I was using them on my truck paint. I put the, on 2 different sanders. 1 air sander and 1 electric sander. I was lucky if I even got 1.5 holes on either to line up. Kinda makes the holes and having a vacuum hook up for your sanders useless. I wish holes patterns were universal. This was not a dig against these discs, but more of an observation

It's great for the first 10 seconds, then it slogs on, because you keep trying to use it and it just doesn't really work anymore. The paper isn't clogging, but the grit is disappearing. Surely this sandpaper should last at least 2 minutes, so you keep trying, pushing harder and harder with your sander, then you finally decide to just put a new sheet on. Good thing there is 50 in a box, and they're cheap, but they sure are cheap, and next thing you know they're all gone and you're only 2/3 done. The stuff at harbor freight is better than this.

Ordered the 6 hole pads, got pads without holesStill usable but much dustier without the vaccum.Dura gold has always been a solid option for sandpapers though.

This sandpaper is some of the best stuff I've used for the money. Pretty durable, clog resistant, and last quite a while. Worth the money, would buy again!

As a full time custom furniture maker I go through a lot of sandpaper and Dura Gold is now my favorite RO sandpaper. It lasts a long time and does not clog easy and the price is great for the quality you get. I will be ordering Dura Gold for all my machines in the shop.

Good overall in terms of quality of the abrasive, like anything else you push to hard, you'll tear it apart.Hook and loop is the only way to go and my thoughts are if you can't find anything at the local hardware store like I found (in 6"), then this is a better selection of grits at a much better price, IMHO.
