22170-G-CP Purist® Three-function showerhead, 1.75 gpm, Polished Chrome

I recently stayed at a hotel with this model shower head and tried the air induction part of the shower head and then had my wife try it. It’s hard to describe but it almost feels like water isn’t hitting you. It feels so awesome and we loved it so much I had to figure out who made it and I bought her one for Christmas. I can’t tell you how much we love it. I highly recommend. I have oil rubbed bronze fixtures and they only had this in kind of a flat black but it blends in perfectly with the ORB spout. This does not come with the spout, it is just the head. The video shows the air induction function and it is so much quieter than the other functions.

Yes. I am leaving a five star review with that title. This showerhead is the one I discovered at a hotel a few months back. I failed to snap a picture of it at the time ... and afterwards I was left yearning to figure out what it was. After lots of online sleuthing I discovered the make and model. Thankfully I found it for sale on Amazon. I compared prices, and the low flow version was less expensive. Being me, I also knew I could pop out the flow restrictor and make it a normal flow unit ... which is exactly what I did. Pop out the filter screen in the neck, and you'll be met with a blue plastic insert holding a black o-ring. If you dig out the black o-ring set into the blue plastic insert, you will increase the flow rate a little - it is an improvement but ... why stop there? I tried to drive a drywall screw into the blue plastic insert to rip it out entirely, but I instead ended up breaking away the center part of the blue plastic, leaving a blue plastic ring behind. That removed plenty enough to drastically increase the flow rate. The installation was a cinch. The appearance is simple and elegant. Two or three wraps of inexpensive pipe thread tape from a home improvement store was probably not needed in my instance, but I applied it regardless to ensure no leakage. The showering experience is nothing short of phenomenal. The "full coverage" spray is quite nice. That is the setting akin to what you would expect from a showerhead - it wets and rinses you well, and does a great job. Then there is the "pulsating massage" feature. I have never been a big fan of the massage feature of showerheads - at best, they tend to be barely perceptible ... in the past, with other showerheads, I would think to myself, "oooh wow, the water barely pulses - what a waste of effort by the manufacturer - why even bother advertising this as a feature?" But, with the 22170-G the massage feature exists, and is at least decently perceptible. The most awesome feature, in my eyes, would be the "silk spray" function... This is the one that made me fall in love with it at the hotel a few months ago. This is the sole setting whose experience sent me on a search to figure out not only who made the showerhead, what the model number is, and where to find one for the home. This is the setting I would be using - daily. What makes this showerhead particularly perilous however, is pairing it with a tank-less water heater and decent water pressure. If you are like me ... you will be done showering ... and simply not want to exit the shower ... which could endanger your continued employment through your being late to work ... as well as your wallet when the utility bills arrive. If you are on the fence ... go ahead ... spoil yourself ... I wholeheartedly believe you will not regret this purchase.

Shower head is solid unit and no complaints until recently (3 years) when a whistling noise began after the water warms up. Soaking the head in vinegar overnight resolved the problem.

Was at a nice resort hotel and found one of the treats was the awesome shower offered at the resort. Before I left I had to check the model, silly it made such an impact. Got home and ordered 1 for each of the showers at the house. Everyone loves the micro-mist feature. Absolutely the best I ever owned. Makes a rain head seem basic in comparison. HIGHLY RECOMMEND....

It’s a decent shower head. The 1.75 gpm isn’t all that strong for me. Not impressed really. Settings are nice

Seamless to install, the 3 modes are different enough to be warranted Kohler quality as always

I don’t know what was the update made to the product but original Kohler purity showerhead worked much better as water pressure is much less with the new updated veraion! Not happy at all. Would like to return!
