Harry Potter Sorting Hat, Brown

Sorting hat actually looks better than I expected from the picture. The material is good quality. My only complaint is the brim of the hat was really bendy and I had to reshape which really wasn't a big deal but the wire felt thin so I was worried it might break. It didn't so I'm keeping it at 5 stars but perhaps children with heavier hands and less care might accidentally break it.

Great hat. I love that it has a pocket to put your cell phone in. Although, it was really hard to get it to fit right, and as you can imagine, we couldn't hear the speakers when they were tucked inside the hat. I tried sewing a pocket under the brim of the hat, but the weight of the phone was too much. We ended up seating kids in front of the computer speakers, with a cell phone plugged into the speakers, and when we put the sorting hat on their heads, our "sorting hat", which had phoned in from another room, sorted the kids into their houses. It worked great, the sound was clear and loud enough to be heard over all the excited kids. Great hat, but I would not bother messing with inserting a cell phone inside it. We made almost everythign for our Harry Potter party, this was nearly the only thing we purchased, and for the price, it was totally worth it. Very recognizable sorting hat.

After reading all the mixed reviews about this hat I decided to roll the dice and order it. I’m pretty crafty so I figured I could make it work. I needed something that wasnt over priced and would get here before I needed it. I was a little nervous when I pulled it out of the box and it was flatter than a pancake in a cellophane bag but with a little stuffing and some shaping it’s really a cute hat! I wear a L/XL in a fitted baseball hat and this fits me very well and isn’t tight or uncomfortable. (So warning to those with smaller heads, this might be really big!) the fabric is very light so that hat isn’t weighed down and heavy. All in all it’s a good buy and is going to work perfect for me to wear to my sons Halloween party at school. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it does take a lot of shaping and work to get it look like it’s supposed to.

I was originally going to try to make my own sorting hat due to the reviews posted, but ended up buying this when I was afraid I'd run out of time. Glad I did. I did not end up making any alterations to make it work for my use, so I saved a lot of time by not making my own.The hat I received does not stand up when it is by itself, but does once it is on someone's head.I would not consider it to have the face. There is a crescent shape of the same material in the front of the hat. I assume this is the face. You could very easily take off the patches if you wanted.It does not talk. The ones I have seen that do talk, are hard and less comfortable.My adult head fits in it.

Unless you're going to put a lot of work into fixing it, don't buy this hat. Just opened the box and I am less than happy.It is flimsy like other reviews have stated, the wire that runs the vertical length of the cone only hold the hat erect if you get it at juuust the right angle and then stop touching it. If there were three of them equally spaced around the cone it would make a lot more sense.The face is hinted at, but will need a ton of shaping and probably sewing to make it proper.The wire around the brim was poking out a bit, but slid back in with some adjustment.The "patches" add nothing but do make it look like a scarecrow hat, if that's what you want that part is done for you, but I'll have to remove them.It is not sized for adults, at least not me who has thick hair. I doubt it will stay on my head for long.The worst part? You can see in my photos, the sash is sewn on BACKWARDS. I'm going to have to rip the stitches and sew it back on the right way round.TL/DR: If you want a starter kit to make your own hat, this is for you. If you want a proper Potter universe Sorting Hat right out of the box, look elsewhere.

Its just a regular scarecrow hat! Doesnt have the sorting face. Im glad I only paid less than 10 dollars for it!!

Lo compré para colocarlo en la parte superior de mi árbol de Navidad, la verdad no se parece en nada a lo que muestran en las fotos, ni siquiera trae la forma de la cara y tampoco trae algo para que pueda moldearse. Los alambres de las orillas son muy duros y cuesta darle la forma deseada. Ni siquiera es el mismo color que muestra las fotos y las costuras parecen que las hicieron solo por terminarlo.NO VOLVERÉ A COMPRAR ESTE PRODUCTO

Me ha sorprendido la calidad, la forma y el material en que se ha realizado el sombrero. No pesa y se adapta a cualquier cabeza. Lo utilizo para mis espectáculos y no me estorba aunque me mueva continuamente.

Están super bien por el precio de 300 Y cacho. No pagaría por ellos si costarán 600. Pero por 300 pesos están super bien!

This picture of the sorting Hat was the one I bought and was expecting, but I did NOT get this one......I got a black one not in the same quality.....so I AM REALLY DISAPOINTED!!!!!
