I bought these specifically for my nine-year-old to wear to kayak camp. I was looking for something that would stay on her feet in the water and the picture shows the strap that goes around the ankle, which would be perfect. Please note, that there is NOT a strap on these. They are a regular flip flop sandal. Perhaps the strap is only on the toddler sizes, but that is not noted anywhere in the description. I ordered a Big Kid size 4/5 and no strap. The smaller sizes come with a back strap to help keep the little flip flops on easier. My daughter is 2.5 and these were her favorite summer shoes.
