The color in the picture is definitely alot more shiny and silvery than the real thing. Think pewter grey for color. The article is made of metal but not pewter. Barrel is plugged up, and I don't believe the nipples on the chamber actually have holes through them to ignite the gun powder in each camber (that just may blow-up in your face anyway). Also, the metal on the gun is unfit to be use a a firearm safely and effectively.. Essentially, it's a NON-FIRING decorative showpiece, only to be looked at It's NOT a firearm, tha's why it is sold so cheaply.. However you can fit plastic TOY caps over the nipples to make a it go bang. **Q: can this be disassembled like a real firing pistol?** A: Unfortunately no **Q: Can this fire blanks** A: NO! The nipples to each six chambers on the back of the cylinder, have NO holes that allow the discharge of gun powder from the percussion caps (you would normally put on the nipples of a REAL "cap & ball" Colt). On a REAL pistol, that hole would allow the discharge to follow through to the chamber, and ignite the gunpowder of a paper (or linen) cartridge. However, this is a NON-FIRING replica, made of pot-metal and a blocked barrel.
