This sedge grass has a triangular stem and it has been used by man for millennia. It's the white pith inside the stem that is soaked in water, pounded together and dried to create paper. Indeed, Papyrus is where the word paper originates. Cyperus can be used outdoors as a marginal pond plant as its roots like to be wet. It can also be used as a house plant, provided it is watered well. It arrived big and fully grown and undamaged. I have it planted in a stone urn in my garden, underplanted with lobelia, and I hope to bring it into the house for the winter. Fantastic plant, highly recommended!
