This is going to end a lot of frustration!
We just got it, and so far it looks great! I'll update the review if needed after some use.I wasn't paying attention and accidentally ordered the large, but we need a medium. We're going to use the large for now while I wait for a medium to arrive... then keep this as a back up boot. Our dog cut his pad, (pretty deep) at the beach a few weeks ago. In so many years of having dogs this is our first pad wound. Little did I know they take forever to heal! I figured a week or two keeping it covered we'd be all good, so I have been using gauze and vet wrap. What a pain in the you know what! The gauze slips, and in order to kind of keep it in place I was wrapping it up with Vetwrap.Problem: Vetwrap isn't breathable so his pad was not doing well. Come to find out, the pads have a type of sweat gland, if the paw is covered and can't breathe it becomes a stinky, icky wounded paw. Add to that the soaking 2-3 times per day procedure, well - I'm sure you can just imagine. We figured we'd do gauze during the day when I could keep an eye on him, and the gauze covered Vetwrap at night. During the day the gauze kept sliding, even with Vetwrap up a little higher. There was no good way to secure it and we tried several things. The paw looked terrible in the morning after being sealed up all night. One morning after struggling with keeping the paw covered I had an epiphany... I took some pieces of gauze, sewed them together to make a boot, secured it up higher on the leg with a few wraps of Vetwrap, and that worked good. I didn't want to keep sewing gauze together a few times per day, so after figuring I couldn't be the first person to think of this brilliant idea, I went online to see what options I had... and I found a few. After looking them over I decided on Ultra Paws because of the mesh top for breath-ability, the dual straps, and it was taller. I saw others that were short and knew they could come off pretty easy. I'm not at all disappointed... other than it's too big, but that's my fault.Bonus: It comes with a water proof bag to cover it while outside, which in WA is necessary.Note for sizing: this is being used on a Border Collie with big feet.Edit - His paw is now completely healed, and after using the Ultra Paws for about a month, I highly recommend them. I'm glad we ended up with 2 boots so we could use one while the other was being washed. For washing - I just put them on a gentle cycle in cold water, then dried them on ultra low heat. The medium fit him perfectly!!

Lily and I recommends this boot.
I got this because my low to the ground, fat and truly stubborn basset hound, Lily had to have her dew claw removed due to a tumor. The surgical wound was not approximated due to the huge tumor that was removed. The vet sent her home with an empty iv bag cut in two. The idea was to put her stumpy foot into the bag and tie the iv bag around her leg when she went outside to prevent the wound from getting dirty or wet. That didn't last five minutes. She would just walk out of the bag. So I went to Amazon to see what I could fine. I found this jewel. Got it in the mail and on her foot and it was wonderful. She would keep it on and walk just fine. She didn't nibble on it and it kept the wound dry. It dies come with a bag to cover the boot so her foot won't get wet. I didn't bother. Too much trouble. Lilly wasn't going to wade in the water. The bottom of the boot is padded and very protective. The boot has a gel pad inside so the it doesn't sling off when she does the basset gallop. The only thing I suggest is you need to be aware of the size and the measurements. I bought a large because Lilly's foot is canine-humongous, but she really needed a medium. Even though it was a little large, the boot stayed on because of the nature of the boot. The gel kept it from falling off and the Velcro straps holds and cinches the boot to the leg. I would recommend a larger strip of the "eye" part of the Velcro (hook and eye Velcro). I went ahead and sewed a piece on the boot and all is right in my world. Lilly no longer needs the boot, and her tumor turned out to be non-cancerous. I love this boot like I love my Lily. I do recommend this boot. A great tool.

Overall good product, don't know how well it would work with an active dog
Our dog got an infected nail and had to have the sheath pulled completely off. The cone of shame did not work well, since she's an older dog and doesn't stand much. The booty in general works well, very breathable and when it gets wet dries quickly. It has two flaws related to the security of the straps. They work well in general but if our dog moves around a lot, which as an older dog she doesn't do much of, it often twists the whole boot around, so the breathable top gets switched with the more padded/gripping bottom. Also when moving around a lot the whole booty can slip completely off. When we first put it on her, she had a tendency to try and lick through it to her nail, but we were able to stop that by applying an embitterment to the glove once (at this point I'm sure it's worn off but she hasn't tried licking it once.Important note: It looks like it's ripped at the top by the velcro strap, that is how the product ships, the edge is just rough and looks like a tear (had to check photos from another site to find out that this was how it should be and not an actual defect). We've been using the product for a few weeks and she's gotten to the acceptance phase of it, and it doesn't impede her walking as much as it first did, We will probably cut the ridiculously long bottom strap.

Not great at staying put
My dog (2 year old lab mix) had a lick granuloma removed from his foot and continued to try and get after it. I found this product and was hoping this would be helpful in keeping him away from his stitches. The boot didn’t stay in place and irritated his foot. I ended up finding boots for all four paws that were much better suited. The one downside of this product was the fact that there was just one.

It’s okay
My pup(75 lb goldendoodle) had a toe amputated and putting a sock and bag on it was a hassle… this was a tad easier than that. It would occasionally twist- it was overall okay. My dad watched her for a week and has a gravel drive. As she started to feel better and get more active, it just shredded to pieces while she was there. A week later and it reeked, seams were split and was held together by duct tape(my poor dad listened to my instructions to keep it on her to a T 😅). The 3 stars is because it was okay when she was still learning to walk on her paw and inactive but don’t buy this if your pup will be on the move to any extent.

Excellent
Bought this boot, thought it was too big, but did what it is designed to do. Holds up to abuse. Been using it daily and really helps. Vet thought it was excellent for healing my dog's foot.

ging garnicht
Leider war Größe S zu kurz für den Fuß , obwohl der Umfang gut gepaßt hätte. Größe M wäre deshalb viel zu weit gewesen. Nichts für unseren Hund.

It’s way too expensive for what it is
Not worth the money
