Daily Pleasures: French Ceramics from the MaryLou Boone Collection

"Daily Pleasures" is both the book's title and its own review.
This could have been merely a well written and beautifully presented book about a superb private collection of French faience and porcelain. But it is so much more. Not only is it one of the few books on French faience written in English, but it puts the subject of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century French ceramics (faience and porcelain) into its cultural and culinary context, so it is of great interest to any reader with a curiosity about and passion for this aspect and period of French decorative arts, life and history.

Daily Pleasures: French Ceramics from the MaryLou Boone Collection, a worthwhile book
A great coffee table book and also a good reference book for French ceramics, especially faience. The book is worth the cost in size and weight, if nothing else, but also has good photos and a lot of useful descriptive technical information on the pieces, manufacturers and processes; and it is in English, whereas most of the other available books on this subject are in French.

Five Stars
A beautiful coffee-table book in terms of illustrations; a wonderful scholarly resource in terms of the essays.
