It feels like leather on the outside but is a soft finish on the inside. The sole is flat and flexible, feels so comfortable you could forget you are wearing them. In the photo there is a regular sock on the foot with the toe pulled up to allow for the toe post, wanted to keep the surgical area covered for now. Normal shoe size is 10.5, ordered the 9.5(45) as per the recommendation in the size chart of the vendor and it is perfect. Heed the size notes, US size 10.5 equals OSCHSH size 9.5. Nice tread on the bottom of shoe, hope it is durable. No arch support, basically a flat sole but very comfortable. Packaged in a zippered plastic pouch which had a strong chemical odor but the shoes did not. There were small bits of foam padding under the foot strap area for packing purposes only. Was wearing Teva Hurricane prior to this shoe with straps that were irritating the heck out of the little toe where there had been a corn and surgery, this sandal is providing the relief to the area that was necessary, and it looks good! The socks look a bit nerdy, but the sandal itself is stylish!
