Good seed mix
I recently started using the Kaytee Wild Bird Ultimate Birder's Blend to attract cardinals, grosbeaks, nuthatches, and other backyard songbirds โ and itโs worked pretty well. The seed mix has a variety of ingredients, and Iโve seen a noticeable increase in cardinal and grosbeak activity in the feeder since switching to this blend. The birds seem to enjoy it, and it stays relatively clean (fewer shells on the ground). A couple minor drawbacks: the package is somewhat large, which can make storage awkward if you donโt have a dedicated container. Also like many seed mixes there are always a few seeds that go untouched, so you may end up with some waste depending on the birds around your area. Overall though, for anyone trying to attract a mix of common songbirds and seed-loving species, this blend is a solid, affordable option.
