I bought this item with the expectation of doing this. The first night I used it I found it frustrating to correctly load and operate. The unit is for 8mm and super8 movies. It only comes with an 8mm take up reel. It has no reverse function. To put film back on the original reel, both reels must be reversed into the machine. I could not get the machine menu to change the procedures from the oriental language to English. I had to use guesswork. Halfway through first reel, stopped working. Original error message was something about tape alignment about a minute into copying.
