The book arrived a couple days late. Though the book was described as "Good" the condition of the book was like "NEW". Very happy with purchase.It was unfortunate it was delayed,but it was not an urgent situation.

Best Beginner Cheese Book Ever
This fantastic book would be perfect for anyone who wants to learn about cheese. Laura's eight categories of cheese are an excellent way to approach cheeses and understand just by looking what a cheese is likely to taste like. For example, the categories she uses are:+ fresh+ soft-ripened+ surface-ripened+ semi-soft+ semi-hard+ hard+ washed-rind+ blueShe spends time discussing the common characteristics of cheeses in each category.For example fresh refers to un-aged cheese which are likely to have a creamy flavor and generally a light taste. Soft-ripened cheese softens from the outside in because of a bloomy white rind-- brie is the classic example.This is much, much more approachable for a newcomer than the usual litany of cheese types, names, and places.

Laura Werlin is AMAZING! She writes in an engaging manner and shares her deep knowledge of cheese as well as cheese and wine pairing science generously. If you only buy one book on cheese, it should be one of Laura's. Fortunately she has written several excellent books because buying one of her books is like trying to eat just one potato chip... "you just can't do it!"

Great Cheese book for newbie
I attended a formal dinner and was assigned the cheese course. I had absolutely no idea what to do. I have been working my way through this book, tasting different cheeses. What fun.
