Has proximity sensor that automatic open and close2. Wireless charging works on heavy duty case (i.e. thick case)Tip: because the holder only opens limited amounts of time, then close, therefore when put your phone on the holder go from top of the holder, then move closer to the holder (1-2 inch, and then move it down to where the proximity sensor is. Once the holder opens, push it against the charging pad and wait the holder squeeze you phone.Worked on my note9 with heavy duty case (otterbox defender like).I need a phone holder for my car to view GPS.After searching, found this.It has a Proximity Sensor that detects phone (or any object), then open the holder and close (squeeze) it.The distance for the proximity sensor to detect the phone is the same height of the 16.9 fl oz. Spring water bottle (yes, I measure it while holding the water bottle beneath the proximity sensor)To open the holder, there is touch sensor (not actual button) located at left side (further on back side). once you touch it opens the holder. Also, even after you turn off the car and pull out the key (no electronic) there is little electic power in the holder that allow you to open/release.NOTE: WHENthe phone is on the holder, depends on the angle, may not easy to see the touch sensor. However, once you got used to it, you can easily located with you finger. In my video, it is not that the sensor not working, but I am trying to find the location of the touch sensor.Another nich feature is it can wireless charging the phone, when the phone is on the holder.Work with thick case. I have 3 layers heavy duty case that usually will not work on regular wireless charger. However ther is no problem charging my phone with heavy duty case on.

It failed after 2-3 days after purchase
Do not buy this unless you’re okay with the mechanism that opens/closes going bad a couple days after purchase. This device is only 2-3 days old and it doesn’t open/close. At first, I thought it was the best $9 purchase. Sadly, it is not worth the money and I had purchased 2! Waiting on the second one to fail now.

Won’t consistently charge
The one I got would charge for like five seconds then stop charging and then start charging again and stop charging all while sitting perfectly still. I’m ordering a replacement to see if it’s just a defective unit

ITEM BROKE ON SECOND DAY USING ,
Mount opens and close all day while no being used , while driving parts just started popping off all over dash board , I purchased 2 my husband told me his is not working he was really excited about receiving , I told him mines did not irk either , it opens and close constantly until I try putting my phone in the. Nothing happens , the few times I placed my phone inside it only charged while sensor was covered ... Therefore I could not take my phone out . It was very difficult not worth the money at all . An actual pain in the ........

Everything's wrong but it works, mostly...
The bolt that's holds it from bending is weak and every bump sends the phone from upright to limp and dangly. The automatic opening to grab the phone keeps opening and closing when there's no phone and the creepy robot sound it makes drives me nuts. Also, the sticky is unsticky now so the whole thing went flying off the dash board mid turn on a highway (way safe), but it does charge when it wants to so 🤷

Ingenuity
Charger works as stated, but I've dealt with this type of base before, so first thing I did was add a thin flat washer behind the knob part and changed the nut, because they have a tendency of being pulled right through the plastic when you tighten it up to hold the arm in place. Made a big difference, arm bracket actually stays in place where you lock it down at.

Disappointing
Tried many times, would jot charge my phone. The open and close feature is cool until it no longer works after the 3rd use. Putting on the vent was very difficult had to stick it on my dash which is what I didn't want to do. Gave up trying to get it to charge and actually open and close to get my phone. Sent back.

Deceiving Description Pointless to Mention QC2.0/3.0
Wireless charging only support max 10w = 5v x 2A. Completely deceiving and pointless to even mention QC2.0/QC3.0, those technology charges well beyond 10w. 10w is a standard charger these days, not fast charging. Its my fault I didnt read description in details but they also should not describe their product as qc2.0/3.0. QC is backward compatible, every usb device is compatible with any QC technology. Its like saying gasoline in a Ferrari is compatible to my Ford Pinto.
