Exceptional Product
I invested in this monitor as I work from home now. For years in the office, I was always a two monitor user. I read several reviews and watched several videos comparing products and specifications. It was baffling. The bottom line is that I absolutely love the profile and lack of depth. It completely frees up my desktop. I also love the LG OnScreen control software, which allows you to quickly configure multiple screen sizes. Very user friendly and a super sharp picture. I am glad I chose the 34" model in lieu of the 27".

The IPS makes all the difference
Tried larger/fancier monitors, but the image was rather poor. This one blew them all out of the water, and the difference is the IPS. Easy to set up with a VESA stand. Plug and play with my MacBook (thru HDMI cable).

What a fun monitor
I purchased this monitor for work as a replacement for the two 24" monitors work wanted me to use. (I hate the "jump" between dual monitors one must deal with the traditional two monitor set up. ) I am a programmer for work and an amateur photographer in my off hours. The monitor is wide enough to allow me to open multiple windows simultaneously. While it does not have the color depth my Dell monitor has when editing photographs, it has very good resolution (3440x1440) which allows me to view lots of data and code. (But in all fairness its not advertised for photo editing.) Surprisingly, the speakers are pretty good. A downside is the volume which they put out which is pretty low. (When I am in the office by myself, I like to crank it.) Another downside is the 'off' button, which is part of joy stick underneath the monitor. I wish it was a button in the lower right hand corner.I have been using this monitor for about 6 months, and for the purposes of my work, it has been a wonderful. I would buy this monitor again.

If you like blurry fonts and pixelation on Mac
From afar this looked good but up close on Mac the text was blurry and various shapes were not sharp but pixelated. Finder, menu bar and more were all hard to read and so far lacking compared to a MacBook Pro’s Retina display.I ensured font smoothing was on, tried forcing RGB to ensure it wasn’t being picked up as a TV, tried different monitor settings and cables - nothing helped.I went back to my Dell P2715Q which despite being a few years older has much better quality.I think a screen this size needs higher pixel density. Also the frame around the monitor has gaps and looks cheap and like it would continue to separate. Also no lightning connection

Great for coding
I got this for coding (I'm a developer) and it's exceeded my expectations in almost every way. Crisp, clear display. Very bright. Wide enough for me to fit most of my workstation on once screen. Definitely recommended.

Work from home,We love our wide screen
A big benefit for working from homeOut of the box it worked as expected the only set up is deciding how to use such a large screenHaving several full size windows open each with their own tabs is very nice. It allows moving from one page to another and back by just moving your eyes from one large screen to another. Side by side comparisons are much easier and drag and drop from one to the other is instant no zooming/scrolling around switching from one screen to another.I had a 30” wide spreadsheet open on one page, no zooming and scrolling back and forth to see the results of changes.I played with some photos just to try it out. On one page was my file of photos, on another a large copy of the image I wanted to work with and on a third was my photo editor app. It should make photo editing more fun. Oh! and if I think it looks good enough to print I enlarged it to full screen to enable me to view every flaw.I used a panorama photo as a full width home screen background, It’s so distracting I catch myself lingering over it instead of working. The image quality is very sharp and clear to my eye. There are many controls for the appearance. On a page of text there is so much white background behind the text that it strains my eyes but it’s easily adjustable for tone and brightness.I sampled a movie on the widescreen and after adjusting the aspect ratio It’s really nice, now I need a more comfortable chair. Because of the size you may not want to be as close as normal to the screen everything is bigger and you may need to turn your head instead of shifting your eyes You might also want to adjust the mouse speed because its a long way to travel across the width. One feature allows us to attach 2 computers to the same screen and drag and drop from one to the other I have yet to set it up but I can think of many possibilities.I did read a negative comment re: the small speaker sound. I disagree. I appreciate good sound quality and attached my own sound system but the ones on the back of the monitor sound pretty good to me. Some buyers would not want a lot of $ spent on built-ins Some models come without speakers . Either they are not welcome in a busy office or they prefer a upgraded sound system. Often I don't bother to switch on my sound system and It’s still good enough for news reports, etc. I wouldn’t expect room shaking vibrations from built-ins but these are appropriate.I had anticipated either a wall mount or a riser on my desk but neither was needed. The base is wide and stable. The forked foot allows space beneath the screen for anything like a closed laptop, dock, keyboard or paper work. It is adjustable for height and tilt in all directions. I did add felt pads under the rubber padded feet to make it easier to slide around the desk. The connectors near the center back are awkward to reach on the wide screen so moving it around on the felt pads is convenient. The monitor is a little top heavy, not dangerous but I will be adding a little quick disconnect earthquake strap on the back to make me feel better.
