As soon as it was down, she claimed it as hers, gave it a thorough test drive and then laid on it for half an hour. Every time she passes by it there is another round of testing. I like the slightly bigger size. Well made. 4 stars for the value only because everything is too costly in today's world. One cat is enamoured with the spot where the kitchen tile transitions to the hall carpet. I have tried all the tricks -- sprays, foil, runs, cat trees . . . nothing worked. Finally gave this mat a try and pleased to say, it's a win! It wasn't large enough to cover the entire spot that she has been working on, but it does cover the majority of the doorway. I put a cat tree on one side so that the mat couldn't be moved. The mat is solid enough that she can't bend up one corner or side like should could with a rug or foil. She doesn't scratch it a lot, but it does get worked on by the younger cats and has held up well. She does use it to lounge on, which is interesting since that was a spot she never relaxed but was always working over her claws! Visually it's not fantastic but what do you expect for something that was intended to be scratched!
