I think it is beautiful fabric, however, and use it as a lightweight high quality cotton blanket. Mostly cotton blankets are very expensive and are often undersized anyway. But cotton is must for three seasons a year in our climate. This spread is generous sized even on a king bed and shared by two. It is attractive in price compared to similar quality blankets- I paid $121. Plus, it can double as a bedspread. I waited to write this review until I had laundered the item twice. I meant to wash it in cold water, but somehow got my signals crossed and hit hot. It washed and dried beautifully with minimal wrinkles and no discernible shrinkage. Closeup photos after laundering show the color I chose, "natural," a warm creamy color.UPDATE: I had occasion to use chlorine bleach on this fabric (an accident with red wine, don't ask) and am happy to say that the spread washed impeccably. I continue to be impressed with how the spread emerges from the dryer virtually wrinkle and shrinkage free. It also drapes beautifully.Update August 2018: I have now used this cover every day for over 20 months and washed it numerous times since I purchased it 20 months ago. It continues to look as good as the day I received it. It washes beautifully. There are no pills, pulls, discoloration, fading, or unraveling. It comes out of the dryer without wrinkles. It provides light warmth, but is breathable due to the high partial cotton content. It is sometimes hard to find a cover for the bed that isn't a comforter, but we wanted something that didn't require a bed skirt or dust ruffle. This spread is beautiful- it's lightweight, the taupe color is perfect(sort of two-toned), and the size is just right for a king size mattress that sits rather high. We had painted our bedroom a pale blue and the color of this spread went with it perfectly. We just added some blue throw pillows. I haven't washed it yet so I can give a review on that.
