Totally Exceeded My Expectations!!! BUY THIS ONE!
This backpack is EXCELLENT! VERY Comfortable to wear with the back and shoulder padding and the chest and waist clips hold it firmly in place. The zippers everywhere are fabulous! As it gives lots of options for how we use it, as well as put the dog in (through the top or side opening). My dog weighs 8 pounds and I purchased the green, which is a nice muted green color. It packs away easily and takes up nearly no space when it's not in use. Pockets on both sides hold the necessities. AND It is comfortable for our little pup too, when traveling on my back as well as a portable lounge/sleeping area with the pop-out. AND I believe, I will be able to take this on the plane since the measurements comply with the airline guidelines and it's soft sided and will fit under the seat! This is not just well designed but well made! I can't say enough about how pleased I am with this purchase! A win, win, win!!! all around!

Excellent cat carrier for small cat
My cat hates carrying cases and vet visits. Shaking, shivering, howling, very dramatic. I decided a new carrier without bad associations was in order so I got this backpack. It's well made. Metal frame, solid but lightweight. Wide, comfortable, padded straps. A clip/tie inside to attach a harness to. Both side doors zip wide open, they can walk in or out (only open one side at a time or it collapses with both sides open at once). Zip open the top and they can jump in and out. When it arrived I started feeding my cat her meals and treats in it. Eventually I started to toss treats in the top rather than just from the sides-- at last she hopped right in after them, and after about a month of doing this every day, would hang out for a few seconds, relaxed enough for me to pet her. I started to zip it shut after she got into it for treats, and she was fine. Then I started picking it up with her in it and walking around the apartment with her on my back. No shaking or howling, and at some point I realized she was sitting back there purring while I brushed my teeth haha. The only part that is challenging is getting it on my back. It works best to put it on a table and back up to it, easing my arms into the straps. Definitely easier with a second person to help. Once it's on it feels secure.I was planning to start taking her for walks in it but she had an emergency and needed to go to the vet. Well it was very easy to get her in there, I just tossed some treats in and zipped her in as usual. Picked it up, put her on my back and off we went. She still hated the travel and vet part but it was easier. When we got back she got treats while in it, and then I opened the side door and out she came. Have continued the feeding and treats routine without a hitch.Size-wise, she's a small cat and can sit up straight or curl up in it, but not quite wide enough to stand in a normal stance. It doesn't look small enough to fit under economy seats on a plane. Happy with this purchase, it's easier on my body than carrying her in a regular case.

Great sturdy, attractive backpack carrier for adventure cats!
This is a great bag for taking your small pets out in the world with you. I purchased the version currently listed as style Grey 1`, which I highly recommend. I chose this particular backpack carrier after doing a LOT of research for a few reasons. First, it has a solid bottom which doesn't collapse under the weight of either my 12 pound or 8 pound cat. Second, it has a chest clip and waist strap, which makes carrying a sometimes squirmy cat a much easier task than it would be without that stabilization. Third, the mesh windows are made of a rubberized mesh which can actually stand up to cat claws, unlike the fabric mesh that a lot of these backpacks have, which makes them really only suitable for carrying dogs. Nice bonuses include the roll-up window (although be careful with that snap, it seems like it might be fairly easy to accidentally rip off), reflective strip on the bag, ease of collapsing for storage, and large zip-up pockets on both sides of the backpack. The window can be unzipped even when you're wearing the backpack and your pet is inside, and (assuming your pet is small enough - I've only tried this with my small, but fully grown, 8 lb cat) they can stick their head out without falling out completely. The bottom of the bag is waterproof enough to handle accidents without leaking, and urine can be easily cleaned up with an enzymatic cleaner (I used Nature's Miracle), as the bottom of the bag isn't absorbent. Finally, if your pet has dark fur (both my cats do), the mesh provides a sort of privacy screen and they can't be seen very well when they're in the bag. Not sure if that's a bonus or not, but it did allow me to semi-discreetly ride the bus with my cat in the backpack. One (potential) downside: this bag is not really big enough for two fully grown cats (although I'm sure kittens could do just fine). I was hoping to find something both my cats could ride in, but at this point I don't think that's something any reasonably sized backpack carrier can do. My cats did recently figure out how to share a different, but similarly sized, carrier on a very long road trip, and they shoved themselves in there like Tetris pieces so I doubt any travel carrier will provide enough space for the two.In summary, if you're looking for a really great backpack carrier for your adventure cat, look no further! This is undoubtedly one of the best backpack carriers on the market currently. It's a bit expensive, but very much worth the cost, and will surely stand up to many years of use.

Quite Spacious even for my Bigger Kitty
This baby is STUR-DY. My girl is on the hefty side for a kitty, always has been even as a kitten. I still can comfortably and confidently put her in this and put her on my back. Pretty spacious, but I do have a critique. Love all the mesh windows, she's anxious so I think it helps to have full range of sight for the most part. It's also nice that unless someone is close up, they would have no idea my cat is on my back.Only real downside is the fold out part is kinda a b*tch to put away. That could be my error, but it always bulges in backpack form and presses against her. That affects the amount of space she gets, but she can easily maneuver herself in there still. Otherwise, great product.

Great purchase! Kitten loves car rides and being able to see the outside world.
Worth buying! Purchased this to train my 3.5lb kitten to be more comfortable driving in the car and going on adventures. She might not love laying in it when we’re as home, but as soon as we leave the house she is so curious to look out the backpack ‘windows’ and once we start driving she curls up for a little nap.The bag itself is good quality and I can see it working for her as she grows into an adult cat. The backpack feels comfortable and sturdy when on my back and has two latches, one that goes around my chest and on around the stomach for better support. The zippers all seem to be good quality too. The inside has a plush material that cozy for the cat. There is a string inside meant to attach the cat to a harness so that you can open the back ‘window’ without her getting out. Haven’t tried it yet as we are still getting her used to the harness. The inside bottom plush pad comes out easily which will be good for any clean ups. There are two side pockets which are great for bringing along some food or accessories. The expandable section is fantastic! I contemplated getting a different backpack without the expandable part but so glad I went with this one.As for the mesh, it’s a bit hard to look in and see your kitty in certain types of light, but from the inside it seems fine to be able to look out and see things. She seems to have no issues with looking out at the world from inside.Overall it’s a good buy. Even the vet thought it was cool and one of the better ‘adventure’ backpacks she had seen.Update: still a great purchase but disappointed to see the price of this jump from $70 to $150...

Great quality
It's great quality and my small Pomchi fits in it perfectly. It's great when I have to bring her to far places or out for a long time. I like the pockets on the side, I can store her treats and some food and water bowls in there so I don't smell like dog treats myself. In the beginning she tried to scratch her way out if it the first time I brought her out but now she loves it. A couple treats always help

Very well-made and comfortable
Very satisfied with this carrier. It has a decent amount of room for a cat even when un-expanded and upright, and lots of space when fully set up. Comfortable when worn, nothing digging in my back, and the chest and waist straps are great. As others have mentioned, there is an issue with the inside safety strap being too long to keep a pet from jumping out. However I don’t think the problem is length so much as location: the strap needs to be a certain length in order for the pet to be able to reach the end of the expanded section, but if it were attached at the bottom instead of the top, it would accomplish that while also not allowing the pet to jump out the top opening. I will probably end up relocating it to the bottom to solve that problem.
