How do I shorten the watch band??

It's pretty simple. They give you a "pin pusher" in the kit - (something I thought was very intuitive). Look for little arrows on the inside of each link. This will tell you which links are removable, and in which direction you will push. Now tip the wristband so that it rests on its side with the side the arrows pointed to down. Here's the tricky part - use a very small hammer or heavy object to tap the pin pusher into the little hole that contains the pin that is holding the links together. I'll have to be frank - I used a specialized watch tool that allows me to line up the wristband so that the pin can drop into a hole. You might do this on a counter, but you must have something to catch the pin, because you'll need it to put the band back together again. I did have to chase mine down once or twice on the floor. After you've removed two pins and the amount of links that you want to make the band fit, you'll use a pin to re-link up the band. This can be tricky too - you need to line up the links you're joining perfectly, and may have to jiggle them a little, while tapping the pin back in. That's where the wristband vice that I used works well. You can find watch repair kits on Amazon pretty cheaply, if you having too much trouble doing it freehand. For me, it was ten minutes of swearing before I got it together and fitted perfectly, but once I did, I had a perfectly fitted watch that looks great. Thinking about buying one or two more of these, because they are so good looking.
