World Geography and Cultures delivers what teachers want: a geography program with relevance - why geography is important and how it relates to their students. This program offers consistent organization of physical geography, cultural geography, and case studies about living in the region that helps students understand the similarities and differences among regions ยgiving them context in which to understand current world events. Includes print student edition Review: Very comprehensive Geograpy/Social Studies textbook. - I really like the depth of information and how it is presented in this geography/social studies text book. The textbook is over 850 pages of well organized and thoughtful information- itโs a big, heavy book! I like the many detailed maps and info-graphics that are included in the text, the review questions in the several sections that make up each chapter, as well as the standardized test practice questions after each chapter. There are many brightly colored photographs, charts and examples which helps make the text more engaging and relevant. I especially like the many pages of critical thinking skills that we can review for understanding and practice included in the reference section of this book, it will help us review these concepts in many ways, from interpreting the graphic information, learning to draw conclusions, comparing and contrasting information, detecting bias, and analyzing primary sources- all really important skills to have when learning from a single source and learning to research. I originally bought this textbook for my daughterโs 6th-7th grade homeschool geography course (sheโs 11, but more advanced in some areas), but after reviewing the book I will save it for high school level geography when sheโs around 13-14 years old. Itโs definitely above her level right now, even though I feel she would enjoy and understand it, I believe it would be more valuable for her to study it when sheโs a little more academically mature, die to the depth and scope of information. I look forward to going though it with her in a couple years! Review: Interesting Read - I purchased this because I had professor Boehm for several geography courses in college long ago. As an adult, it is a very easy read. Gives me a chance to see what is being given to high school students these days.
