I installed it on the ceiling. Works like a charm.
If the wind caught our front door, it would smash into a cabinet full of antique glass that was beside it. I needed a door stop that was reliable, but couldn't very well mount it on the floor to impede foot traffic. I ended up purchasing this and mounting it to the ceiling. It is not adjustable, so I didn't have to worry about adjustment screws coming loose with use. It just stops the door every time...in the same place. Simple.

Stylish and secure
This is a permanent, solid solution when a door needs a doorstop anchored to the floor, rather than to a wall. Three screws secure it to the floor if it's wood or wood based; plastic expanders are provided if you need to attach it to a concrete floor.

Does as advertised, one of the screw heads snapped off installing so would definitely get a stronger screw or pre-drill. Otherwise.. good doorstop for the $$

Perfect Solution for our Front Entry Door
After major renovations to the house, we were not happy with the hinge mounted stopper that used to be on the front door hinge to keep the knob from hitting the wall, and we didn't want to add a plate to the wall for the knob to hit. Because of the threshold, the height of the door was a little too much for the domed stoppers that we'd put on the floor for the interiors. This stopper was the perfect solution. Three holes to drill in the floor near the baseboard for a quick installation. At three inches, the stopper is plenty tall for the door, the rubber stopper adds some cushion, and the color is just right to match the door hardware.
