Compact, sturdy, cost-effective: The 18” Wide Ducted Fume Hood is an optimal compact fume control solution for limited space environments or small-scale operations. Fume Control for a Variety of Processes: Ducted Fume Hoods are useful for applications where filtration may not be effective because of heavy volumes or filter efficiency issues. Typical applications include research & development processes, powder containment (e.g. pharmaceutical compounding) chemical fume control, mobile laboratories and field research, light acid etching, and a variety of other processes that require particulate or chemical fume extraction. High-Quality Materials & Design: This benchtop unit features unique hinged folding side panels, a high-density polyethylene base, a clear polycarbonate top, and a polycarbonate hinged sloping front lid. It is extremely compact and light weight. The 18” Wide Ducted Fume Hood can be an effective and economical tool for air quality enhancement in many commercial, chemical, medical, laboratory, and industrial applications. Please note: This unit does not come with ducting, fan, or vinyl curtains. Unit ships partially assembled, some assembly is required.

**Q: What are the dimensions of the entire unit?**
A: Hello, 
The overall dimensions (outer) are 20"W x 18.5"D x 19"H. It will have a 4" exhaust collar on top of it.

**Q: What fan is needed with this unit for chemical vapors?**
A: It is a fairly small hood measuring 18" x 18" x 18". If you had a plastic fan that was mounted near the hood you would only need 100 CFM ( 18" x 8"/144 x 100=100). 
For chemical fumes it is not advised to use a metal fan that is open. A well enclosed rated fan is typically utilized.

**Q: Do you supply the plastic fan and a short piece of ductwork?**
A: You have to supply your own flex duct (I used 4 inch dryer flexible) there is also no fan I ran mine to an existing exhaust vent in the room, but it sure works great!!

**Q: Duct size?**
A: Hello, The 18" (SS-218-E) has a 4" exhaust collar to connect your ducting to. Please feel free to reach out with any additional questions.
