It is a little heavier that I thought it would be but that is probably what makes it sturdy. I have it on my patio going into my dining room area. I only need it when my mother comes to visit, which is once a week. It looks good enough and functions well so I leave it up all the time ### ⭐⭐⭐ danger for fingers *by U***T on June 1, 2025* tricky to open and close be careful your fingers and pretty flexible i would like it was more rigid seems a little weak ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Go for the extra foot! 8 ft ramp... *by V***. on August 18, 2021* My 80 year old mother became non weightbearing after a bad broken ankle and surgery necessitating ramps to give her access to her porches which were built for the step from the house to the porch but a larger ramp was needed for the 2 bigger porch steps to the sidewalk. The builder of the other wooden ramps recommended we purchase an 8 ft ramp but my mother was resistant to paying 380 to 400 for one which is what I found they ran for most that size. I then found this 7 ft ramp and she agreed to the 289 and I thought what would one less foot matter really? Well is does! it is the difference of the momentum of the weight of the chair suddenly hitting as you back her down the ramp and both sets of wheels are on the ramp then and down she comes. If you dont fully tighten your core muscles and lean into the chair, then you could lose control and it may "jump" the ramp. The extra foot would have decreased the incline and helped this issue. My mother is not that heavy and we are not weak but it is a job to get someone down a ramp! also I noticed on nut on the ramp keeps loosening up and I have to keep tightening it for the part that folds. The other issue that I had was with the delivery time. We needed this ramp ASAP and I ordered it on a Saturday and it was promised to delivery by that Friday. It wasnt until Wednesday that it even said that it shipped and by then I was getting really worried. It actually did deliver on Friday though to my surprise.
