Great for orchids
Lasts forever! High quality and expands like crazy when added to water. My orchids are loving it!

Love this moss!
Good quality with very little amount of parts to be discarded. It lasts a long time, doesn't degrade easily. It's compressed, so once you rehydrate it, there is a lot of moss for several pots. My favorite moss for orchids.

Great moss!
I know it might be alarming when you first get this small sheet of compressed sphagnum, but there is a lot after hydrating. I am shocked at the amount and the quality. I currently am using it to grow Alocasia corms. This is great quality and I will be ordering again! So happy with this purchase.

Great quality, but very little for the price
This comes compressed down in a package about the size of a DVD case. Once reconstituted, it filled up a large mixing bowl. I took a star due to the amount per cost, though I should have realized when I bought it. Now I know, and will look for larger amounts next time. Still, the quality of this was top notch. Large strands of moss, exactly what I needed. And for the projects I currently have it will do. Oh, and for anyone who hasn't purchased compressed materials like this before, put it in a large container and slowly add water. It will expand and grow, and then you can come back and add more. It doesn't take long, and you can also flip the brick to get the underside hydrated. This will allow you to get it right where you need it without waterlogged the whole thing and then having to wait for it to dry.

Sticks, Leaves, and Strings
Normally I get the less compacted New Zealand sphagnum from BesGrow, the one that comes in a cube, and I would normally rate that one 4.5/5. I got this one, however, because I needed it quickly, and it was due to ship quicker than the one I usually get. I figured it would be the same since they’re both from BesGrow. I was wrong however. This one, that comes very compacted and flattened into a sheet, has much worse quality sphagnum, with a lot of them being bare strings with very little fiber, and a lot of leaves and sticks of other plants in here. If I didn’t have such a dire need for it, I would’ve returned it. As is, I had to spend an hour separating out the sticks and leaves, and stringy non-fibrous sphagnum pieces. All in all, only about 50% of the total volume is what I’d consider good sphagnum. Which means that I ended up throwing away a significant portion. If you want good New Zealand long fiber sphagnum, BesGrow is a decent company to buy for. Just steer clear of this particular product maybe, and get the regular blocks. I’m not sure what the difference is, but both sheets I got were like this.
