The package comes with no instructions and Amazon's help line is answered by a call center in Pakistan or India or somewhere and they aren't any help either. I installed these on the side of our church which has a masonry stone veneer. I am still trying to figure out why the light did not come on automatically at dark after charging for 6 hours.So, in order to use the anchors it came with, you'll need the following tools:A drill3/8" concrete drill bit9/16" wrenchSomething to mark the holes witha pair of needle nose pliersregular pliers or crescent wrenchFirst, hold the arm up to the surface you want to mount to (make sure it's level). Mark the mounting surface with a marker through the 4 holes on the arm. Using the concrete drill bit, drill the holes approx 2 inches deep (the same depth as the anchors that come with the lights). Then, unscrew the nut from the anchors and remove the washers and put those in your pocket. Tap the anchors into the hole, making sure the sleeve goes into the hole and the bolt part with the threads is sticking out. Once the anchors are in, install the arm on the anchors...larger washer first, then locking washer then the nut. Use the 9/16" wrench to tighten...the sleeve will expand inside the hole as you tighten and will set in place.Assemble the solar panel to the bracket. This is tricky. You'll use the little bolts, nuts and washers it came with. You'll line up the 4 holes on the bracket to the 2 holes on each side. Then you will pair the washer with the bolt. Using a pair of needle nose pliers, slide the small nut under the lip and line it up under the hole (do this one at a time). Put the bolt through the hole making sure the washer is in place and tighten the bolt into the nut that you are holding with the needle nose pliers below. This takes some patience. After you do this to all four holes, you can add the swivel bracket. You will slide the swivel bracket into the bracket you just mounted to the solar panel. You will use the butterfly nuts and the bolts they fit with and install into the center hole on each side (you will need a Phillips screwdriver to tighten). Once that is done, you can mount the solar panel to the top of the light pole using the bolt and your 9/16" wrench. Once you have the solar panel installed, it can be tilted to wherever the sun is for most of the day. You may want to use another small nut and bolt as a set screw through one of the other small holes so that the swivel wont move once you set it. You'll have to provide your own though cause they didnt come with one.Once the solar panel is installed, feed the cable through the hole on the underside of the arm so it comes out through the large hole where the light goes. If you are on a ladder, this part is tricky and best done with 2 people but you can do it if you balance well.Now you are ready for the light. Hold the light firmly in one hand and use your other hand to connect the cable from the light to the cable coming out through the hole in front of the mounting arm. You'll need to screw the water-proof connector so that the cords dont come apart. There is a notch in on both sides of the cable so it only goes in one way. Once the cords are connected, you can slide the light into the hole on the end of the mounting arm. Make sure you help the cable feed into the arm. You may need to pull some slack out of it through where it sticks out on the bottom. The light should fit in snug. You'll use a set screw with the allen wrench and washer to hold the light in place once you've got it. There are 2 holes on top but only one of the set screw reaches the light. There is a red LED light that will start flashing on the underside of the light itself. This indicates it is charging.If anyone knows why they light doesnt automatically come on at dark, please let me know. I had to use the remote to manually turn it on, but I cannot do that every day and want it to come on automatically at dusk and turn off automatically in the morning at dawn.Hope my instructions help someone! Remote is not the best does not have a dusk to dawn button but when turned on at night for the 1st time it defaults to that function , mine has been coming on and going off automatically for the last 4 days ....love it.
