1939 UK Yearbook: Original book full of facts and figures from 1939 - Unique birthday gift / present idea.

Received this today and was impressed with the quality, and the amount of research that had gone into it. It covers the headline facts of the year, but also has an informative,and we'll illustrated approach to the smaller things that made the year ie old adverts, sporting events, birth of famous people and even an old money convertor. All in all this book will appeal to all ages either as celebration of a birthday, research of the year/period , and for younger people the illustrations make it easy to absorb and digest

Interesting, bought for a gift for 80 yr old.Didn’t quite ‘get’ why a big chunk in the middle is children’s stories?? My partner didn’t recognise these as stories from his era so it’s a bit odd.

My dad loved it and kept him entertained for weeks. He said it was easy to dip in and out of.Very good quality

The book was bought as a part of an 80th birthday gift and was very well received, in fact it was well read at the birthday party, being passed around lots of guests who were delighted to read all the sata and statistics, and see the pictures included there. A successful gift !!
