Not the secure connection that soldering would give. Over time the flexible insulation could pull out of the clamp especially if the wires get warm. Moisture could also cause corrosion between the wire and the clamp. When you are doing diagnostic work you don't want your test leads to become part of the problem. I opened up the crimps, soldered the wires to the clamps and recrimped them. This took about 1 hour for a set, =10 joints. Not really worth the effort since you can get similar sets that are already soldered for about $2 more. ### ⭐ Cheap, crimp connections will be troublesome. *by S***N on Reviewed in the United States on September 5, 2019* These low-quality crimped leads will become intermittent and unreliable in a few years, depending on the amount of corrosion that gets into the clips. Beware, these clips must be soldered to the wires.. You can do the soldering job yourself on these but it's a huge pita. They are nothing like what you are used too, the alligators do not twist in your hand, which makes opening them a delight compared to the other styles. The wire is nice with a good insulation and the length and colors are perfect.
