Ingenious! Plus- pretty funny, conceptually!
I bought this because- as both an aspiring felter, AND the monkey servant of a very mat-producing kitty, this seemed like the perfect intersection. And- it is both amusing and clever! Now, the only project made of 100% cat hair is a finger puppet... but I figure I can use the basic technique to make felted catnip mice out of cat hair. How recursive! The rest use the cat hair to embellish other grounds, but they are cute projects and look like fun. I have not thus far done much felting, but I have been saving Miss Heidi's mats some of the time (she is a very wooly cat, and refuses to allow brushing), so have some good material to work with! Both entertaining and useful!

Cute and crafty
I ordered this book to use as part of a white elephant gift exchange. I will also include some of the supplies that are needed to get crafting: cat hairbrush, dish soap, plastic wrap, sponge, felt, thread, felting needle, etc. The book I ordered was used, so pay no attention to the minor flaws in my pictures. I quickly scanned this book. The instructions are very easy to follow and seem to be thorough. There were some parts that were funny. I couldn't tell if that was from the translation from Japanese to English, or if that was intentional. The instructions cover the steps from collecting the hair, cleaning it, and preparing it for use. There is also some interesting stuff on the difference between cat hair and sheep wool. The projects use very little cat hair. The puppet on the cover uses the most. The other projects require felt or clothing items. These crafts look fun and inspirational.

Funny yet practical
Very well written as far as instructions and useful tips about how to harvest cat hair. Bought as a funny gift. Anyone with a sense of humor (or a cat) would appreciate this book.

Cute idea! Good directions for art that anyone with patience & cats who enjoy being groomed can create.
A cute quirky book! Book is of good quality and shipped quickly. Lots of photos. Directions are thorough. No high degree of artistry needed but one must like cats and have cats that like to be groomed to enjoy the full measure of this book. I am still in the material collection stage and have not made a finger puppet yet. No rush. I simply take the segregated colors (yellow tabby in one bag, gray in another, black, clean white from neck or belly) off the cat comb each evening and stow them in a labeled baggie. My kitties love being groomed so it is my pleasure too. I admit to feeling a little silly collecting cat hair (the first sign of crazy cat lady behavior? ha ha) but have enjoyed the directions, pictures, and am looking forward to making the first art. I also envision attaching a small ribbon to the back of the puppet's collar to make a sweet keepsake Christmas ornament of each kitty. I am pleased with the book purchase and looking forward to being crafty.

Impulse buy and I like it
Being a cat mom, when I saw this I just had to buy it lol I figured if I don’t like it, I can always give it to friends who has cats anyway LOL But I decided to keep it, it’s quite funny with all the steps and also what you can make. It’s on my bookshelf, I haven’t find time to make it yet being super busy at work, but it bring a smile to my face when I see that silly book and maybe when I finally have some time, I’ll give that a try!

I saw reviews on here about people buying it as a joke and then it ended up being used. I bought it with a similar vibe in mind, though well aware that this was a potential outcome. Unfortunately, my friends cat died on the run up to christmas and this book was already wrapped along with other cat related items and under her tree. However, she had kept some of the fur before her bundle of fluff was cremated and so found it a wonderful present and has plans to use the fur to make a small cat picture to frame. My own cat died recently and she has offered to do the same for me. while many of the 'project's' are similar and basic, and my friend had thought that 'crafting' meant she might be able to make small cup holders etc, it is more for making small items like brooches and pictures.
