The tool allows the spring ring around the washer gasket to be removed. Could probably have contrived something but this is more reliable. Not too bad price for something I hope not to use often. The LG version on lint was 5 times more expensive

When my washer took a dump, I learned how to fix it on YouTube. Fortunately a couple of posters showcased this tool, and it made my DIY day much easier when I tore apart and put my washer back together. It's not a tool you'll need for everyday life, but when it came to repairing my LG washing machine it was worth every penny even if I only use it once.

Bought this along with a drain pump for my LG front load washing machine. This tool, though only used this one time is invaluable! I could not have completed the job without it. It worked as designed and made the repair go smoothly. Also, there is this You Tube video where someone does this repair by going in from the bottom - IGNORE THAT VIDEO! Get this tool. Also, There is a competing model that does not open as far as this one. I did not try that one but did use the maximum opening and cant imagine that one actually does the job.

Use this to replace the outer drum seal on my LG front load washer I've done it several times without a tool and it took me over an hour each time with this tool it took me about 20 minutes it's built fairly solid and I think it's okay for occasional use not sure about long-term regular usage though My only complaint would be that it had some notches in it so the tool didn't slide out so easily when you're trying to open it up.

The Spring Spreader tool was received in a Timely Manner and was exactly the correct tool for installing the door seal for my front loader washing machine. I could not have replaced the door seal without this tool!

I tried very hard to install the outer spring ring for my LG washer without this type tool and only found it's impossible. Then I ordered this because it says suitable for both inner and outer rings and this one has bigger distance between tips than some others. It took me only seconds to put the outer ring on by using this tool, thanks to its 5" stretching distance. It feels solid and easy on hand. Anyone should have this special tool before replacing or cleaning the boot gasket for LG or other compatible washing machine. It'll make your job a piece of cake. I did not do inner ring this time and will update this review once I’ve done.

I discovered this tool in a YouTube video that I found while researching how to clean the rubber boot in my upright Kenmore washing machine. Doing it myself saved a ton of $ (vs hiring someone to do it). I also saved a bit of coin by purchasing this one instead of the official Kenmore for which they charge $35-$40 for! If you’re going to do any sort of maintenance or repair on anything with a tension spring, you’re gonna need one! Get this one. It’s perfect for the job.

Just the tool I needed to put the gasket back on. This item I could not find locally and tried every hack without success! This arrived and the gasket was back on right away. Worth the money, don’t waste your time (and patience).

I don't know what it would have cost me to have a tradesman come and do this job. I suspect this tool saved me quite a bit of money and time, in the end. In all honesty, seconds of work to refit the clamp. And even if I never use the tool again, I consider it a bargain.
