BANDAIHobby - Star Wars - C-3PO 1/12 Scale Model Kit

I purchased this by mistake, thinking it was the Revotech figure, so I was a bit bummed when I realized that I accidentally ordered a model kit. But I figured since I paid for him, I might as well put him together. The second I opened the box, all feelings of being bummed out disappeared. :) When I saw that he was actually chrome gold instead of a flat gold paint, I was a lot happier. ^_^ So I put him together, and I just him! :)Now, this is a model kit, so naturally you'll need to assemble it yourself. It's a plastic snap together model, so you won't need any screwdrivers or glue. On tool that I would recommend having is a set of pliers to help you get the pieces out. You can do it without pliers, but having pliers makes things easier. He has a few stickers that you need to apply, but they're pretty easy to apply compared to some of the other Star Wars 1/12 models by Bandai that I've seen. He has a lot of pieces, so it may take a while to put him together depending on how much experience you have putting these together. I don't buy model kits very often, so this took me a couple of hours to complete (feel free to laugh). All assembled, this model looks amazing! :) The chrome gold really gives him that authentic golden droid look, and he has some really nice details, too. :)In terms of poseability, he has several points of articulation. His neck is on a ball joint, so he move his head in all directions. His shoulders are also ball joined, so you can rotate his arms around. The arms also swivel, too. :) He has two sets of arms; one set that bends at the elbow, and one set that doesn't. For his hands, they peg into place, so you can rotate them, but that's all the movement you get out of the hands. His torso and hips are connected by two ball joints, so you can rotate and bend the torso some. The torso bends back pretty well, but it doesn't bend too far forward because of part of his torso piece. His legs do swivel, but they don't really bend, so you can't put him in a sitting position. His knees do bend some, but not all the way. As for his feet, they do swivel, but that's about it for his feet.He comes with some different pieces so that you can customize him a bit. He comes with two face pieces; one that's dented, and one that's normal. He also comes two different torso pieces; one that has the restraining bolt on it, and one that doesn't. He also includes two sets of arms; one set that bends at the elbow (this set requires some extra assembly), and one set that doesn't. He also comes with a couple of different sets of hands; one set that's relaxed, and one set posed to hold a comlink. He also includes a comlink, but it's very small, and very easy to lose if you aren't careful. He also includes a dangling eye piece (you know, in the event that your favorite Star Wars memory is his eye hanging from its socket :D). The last thing he comes with is a base for him to stand on. :)All in all, this is a fantastic model, and displays beautifully. :) We haven't gotten word on if Hasbro plans to ever release a 6" Black Series C-3PO figure, but this model kit makes a pretty substitute. :) If you have the time and patience to put him together, then I highly recommend him. :) He just looks fantastic, and makes a great addition to any collection. ^_^

Another great build from Bandai's awesome Model Kits. No glue or paint required, this is a sprue set that you clip out and put together via an instruction manual. It's fairly easy, just takes a little time (a couple hours usually). I applied a dark grey wash and used a gloss coat, flat coat and some weathering effects to just add a level of realism to this. I've seen a few complaints that this figure isn't super articulated, but it shouldn't be. It'd be weird to have a super articulated C-3PO that you could get into crouching poses or something, I liked that this set comes with options though, if you want to, you can build this figure with articulated arms at the elbows, but I went with the traditional route and went stiff armed.So far I've only built Troopers and the R2 Unit set from the Bandai Model kits, this is another great addition to my display. I've been so pleased with these sets I think I'll have to try out some of the ships now. Putting these sets together is cool just because of the fact that you get to build your own action figure, but after adding paint deco to it, it makes these sets look like film accurate ILM models used in the films. These display really nicely and for the price these sets are (around $25-$35) and a few hours of your time, you can bolster your armies, add to your display if it's incomplete, or customize these sets to make this any kind of 3PO Protocol Droid in any color. Now I want to get the R2 Unit set again so I can paint it black and orange for an Imperial Astromech droid. If you like building armies, love action figures and Star Wars, like challenges like puzzles or Lego, or if you want to take it to the next level and paint these up, this is a great way your spend your time and money. This Bandai Model Kit comes FULLY APPROVED.

beautifully engineered model, looks like 3PO at the end of "New Hope", all shiny and new. Would NOT recommend as a toy for young kids as the arms tend to come out of its sockets easily. Also, 3PO doesn't like the stand, as his foot doesn't really fit into the imprint. So, standing isn't easy for him, he tends to fall forwards. BUT ... many positives here, not the least of which was the sale price with free shipping from Japan !! Great. And the arms have WORKING pistons, even though they are not chromed, like the rest of the arms are. Odd.There are MANY small parts here, and it's a bit frustrating to maneuver them into position ... but the results are mostly great, and the way this thing has been designed is really really impressive. I'm curious to see if Hasbro can come anywhere CLOSE to this detail with a 6" Black series figure, when and if they come out with one. He is truly beautiful. But for a display case, next to 6" Scale R2 ...

I've built models for years and these are my new favorite brand. They are quite complex as each joint requires assembly. The quality is superb and the finished product makes for a fantastic display piece. I purchased this as a substitute for a 6 inch black series c3po figure. This model has far better visual appeal and impact than any of the black series figures. It's important to note that this is a model and not an action figure. But I don't play with my action figures as much as I display them. I definitely plan to purchase more models from this line and offer my highest recommendation to any model enthusiast and Star Wars fan.

Had no idea I was purchasing something that needed to be put together. I thought it was an already assembled action figure. I can’t answer the above questions because the many pieces are still in the bags. No English directions-instead of an action my figure my daughter and her son will have a project.

Escribo hoy la reseña porque lo monte en dos días. No es una pieza para principiantes ya que hay que tener mucho cuidado con los dorados al despegarlos, es necesario un alicate de maquetista. La maqueta es brutal, el detalle igual y la calidad fantástica, me ha sorprendido muchísimo, no decepcionareis a ningún incondicional de Star Wars, altamente aconsejable.

This is an amazing and intricate piece of kit. At first glance, what seems as hundreds of pieces is enough to scare anyone off the project. Instructions are in Japanese. There are six plastic lettered frameworks (A, B, C etc) holding a selection of parts which are numbered accordingly. Diagrams are numbered in order of build, well laid out and easy to follow. There is a choice between battle damaged head or unscathed. You will definately require model makers snips and longnose pliers if not modellers magnifying glass to command more control of the smaller parts when handling.CAUTION!Some parts are frustratingly minuscule but well-made and can get lost if your not careful, so as a precaution, I advise handling and building over a shallow box or even the box C3PO comes in to help contain any unintended flicks or spring when snapping parts together. The moulding process of the parts is second to none and the coating looks like gold (which it isn't) but is a good reproduction.The instructions don't appear to include glue but I found it necessary on occasion to keep extreme intricate parts from dropping off during the build which I must say has happened to me on five consecutive and frustrating attempts with particular armature pins but once you get into the swing of things, this will be a build to be proud of.The seller's photo is a good representation of build quality and for the price will outdo some of the premade C3PO's out there.Total build time 3 hours.Lots of parts left. These are designated spares or alternate appearance options.Thank you

Ein erstklassiger, absolut erste Sahne Bausatz!!! Die goldene Oberfläche ist makellos und da man bei BANDAI keinen Kleber benötigt, bleibt das auch so. Ich denk da jetzt an die fast unvermeidlichen Flecken durch Klebstoff am Finger beim Zusammendrücken der Teile.Verschiedene Ausführungen sind baubar. Arme beweglich oder fest. Das kleine Sprechgerät aus "Eine neue Hoffnung" ist genauso dabei wie der Sperrbolzen.Für STARWARS Fans praktisch ein Muss den zu haben. R2-D2 und BB-8 haben sich auch schon dazugesellt und der "Falke" ist auch schon unterwegs. Was BANDAI da an Bausätzen abliefert, ist das Beste was ich je in den Händen hatte. Ist Tamiya schon perfekt, schaffen die es noch einen draufzusetzen!Ich wünsche Euch viel Spass, wenn ihr Eure Modelle auch habt.
