Motorcycle Journeys Through North America: A guide for choosing and planning unforgettable motorcycle journeys

Got this for our son in Utah who enjoys motorcycle trips out West. He said it was spot on with well known and not so well known areas to explore.

Bought as a gift. He is an avid adventure biker, and he really likes this book. It's still winter for us, so he is already planning trips using this book.

The main reason the book doesn't get five stars has to do with editing. If you mention a specific place and/or have a picture with a caption the mentions a specific place, it ought to be labeled on the accompanying map. That said, this is still and excellent guidebook for mapping out motorcycle touring rides. The tips regarding ride prep at the back of the book are very good. The rides mapped and described are, where I have experience, are realistic and point out the occasional "must" or "recommended" thing to see or do. The book itself is reasonably sized such that it could be taken on a road trip as a constant reference. This book can be used to essentially map out a trip for you or you can use it to modify a trip you've mapped out for yourself, which is what I am doing.

My husband bought this for his motorcycle trips, but we are also using it to plan out our next road trip. We love that the book divides the trips up into sections of the country. Very handy!

Thoroughly enjoyable read. Always enjoy Dale's travel narratives, as they are easy reading and enjoyable accounts, with a variable selection to suit any traveler and area of the country desired. And the accounts provide ideas for developing your own, closer to your home base.

This book is great for anyone looking for an exciting road trip/ vacation. I purchased the book as a gift. The recipient I plotted for the next trip already.

This book is well written, informative of historical events in the areas discussed and documented with great pics. While it doesn't cover all possible routes, most of the great routes are covered and some of the less known, which are really the cool trips as there are fewer people on those roads. Reading the book makes me want to get my bike ready for any one of the suggested trips.
