These are nice chews, and are very popular with our golden retriever. The chews are about 6" in length and are completely edible, so it's more satisfying for our dog than the plastic-like chews or the raw-hide ones (which only seem to get half-chewed & abandoned). Most recently, we have started bringing one of these along when we take our dog with us on hikes - when we take a big break for a snack or to rest we give her one of the chews. Note that depending on how big your dog is, these don't last long. It's about 10-15 minutes when we give our dog one of these.

THIS BONE KILLED MY DOG! I am literally waiting for my dog to pass away because there is nothing the vet can do at this point! I gave him this bone to my pittie because it was supposed to be for aggressive chewers. He ate the entire bone within 10 minutes! Then came the diarrhea, the excessive water drinking. He stopped eating. Took him to the vet…his numbers are off the charts. We could hospitalize him, which would cost us thousands…but he probably wouldn’t survive. So now, I am watching and waiting for my soul pup, my world, to die. I wish I had never seen the ad for this stupid bone. I’m shattered.

I have written this review immediately after he ate it, he fell asleep like after a big turkey dinner 🤣 will update if he gets sick! My dogs really like Nylabone products, I’ve been buying them for years. This is my first time buying one of their “edibles.” I bought the largest size, obviously, for my Anatolian shepherd mix. It measured 8in long. Being an ASD, he has a very large mouth and strong jaw, however, he’s a slow, careful and gentle chewer so I thought these might last 30 mins… they didn’t. Maybe 10 mins max. Now knowing the softness, I will not give these to my bully mix at all. She can chew up anything, and really fast, she swallows pieces that are too big, and has choked on things in the past. I can see any hard chewers blowing through these in minutes, especially if you buy the “correct size” for your dog’s weight. If your dog is a hard chewer, scarfs food/treats, has choked in the past, is overly food motivated and just wants to eat - these probably aren’t for you. Once these get down to the nub, they are definitely a choking hazard. So monitor closely, remove it and trade for another toy, shove it into another toy/bone/kong whatever. Don’t let your dog choke, and have plenty of water nearby! The pros if you have a non food motivated, gentle chewer - They don’t stink, didn’t stain the carpet, his mouth didn’t get super foamy, his breath actually smelled fine after (what I was looking for,) no bleeding gums, no cracking noise with his teeth or jaw, not messy. I know he REALLY liked it because he rubs his face on the carpet when he’s done like a napkin when he loves something, and he did. Does not happen often due to chronic GI upset and I often have to trick or coax him into eating. So this got some calories in him! Overall good product, I just wish they lasted a bit longer. They do definitely last longer than other “tooth brushing” type bones, I would say they’re comparable to Whimzees in toughness, just thicker due to shape. I would imagine they last about the same amount of time as the thick Whimzee sticks I might try freezing the second one to make that one last longer! I wish they cost less than $5-6/bone to last for 10 mins 😖

Both of my dogs love these so much, it’s like they’re addicted to them! I did find out from my vet that they are high in calories so now I break them in half and I agree with the statement about them being expensive. I’ve seen a lot of people say that they don’t last long and these particular ones are meant to be eaten, and I think they’re think of the plastic ones which I have as well and my Belgian Mals have yet to destroy them after 3 years.

The dogs loved them however they lasted maybe 20 minutes. Definitely watch your dogs while they’re eating this I had to take it away from one of my dogs because she was chewing on it so hard that her gums bled. Not worth the money for the time they lasted.
