Must have
We use this commercially for spinning out hand dyed yarn before hanging to dry.Total must have for anyone wanting to dry anything without a standard dryer.Skip all the rest and just go here. We've owned everything from the cheap to the panda, to commercial to everything in between. This is the only way to go.

I have owned two. Both broke.
I did not buy mine from Amazon. I bought directly from the manufacturer. The sales pitch for the high price is that these are not "cheap units manufactured in China" but that they are made from quality components. I talked to the owner, over the phone, before buying mine. But regardless of the sales pitch, I have owned two, over the years; and both broke. Now I am out of hundreds of dollars.(I bought mine, back when they cost less than $400.) Herein lies the problem. Because it spins so fast, the load must be perfectly balanced. The load must also be sufficiently compressed, so it is at less risk of catching at the lid, as it spins. If either of those criteria fail, then this unit can break in an instant; and when it breaks, it can be violent because it is spinning so fast. But if you have a "magic touch", then maybe yours will last longer. The unit does serve a very useful purpose for which there are few alternatives, if any. It is just unfortunate that it cost so much and that it is so unreliable.

I've owned one for about three years. It is very effective when loaded properly.

Spin-X the Timex
The Spin-X is the centrifuge dryer used in our professional crafts fiber dye lab. It gets heavy usage from a number of people and it performs like a champ. It's been in the lab for a few years, and it's still going strong. When I'm ready to purchase my own centrifugal dryer, it will be the Spin-X used or new.It is stable and won't rock at all if you make sure the items are evenly dispersed in the unit. Easy to shut off by just lifting the locking mechanism slightly, moving it left to an eight count. There's no need to tip the Spin-X to ensure complete water extraction. It does that by itself. The only thing is the plastic parts can become discolored with dyes if the unit is not wiped down after use. Since we use it for dyeing, we also pass a damp cloth inside the metal container to ensure there's no residual dye stain after the fabrics have been extracted.

Too small.
Over priced, lid locks, easy to be over balanced, knocks, over heats, smokes, will not work, dealer refused to fix without charging a high price. DON'T buy sorry I invested my hard earned money.

Don't even think about using in a commercial setting!
Burned up motor after 1 1/2 months. It was being used in a commercial facility. The second one still works but if you are a commercial facility with lots of different people using this I would definitely AVOID this particular device.
