The material is very durable and suitable for walking in the mountains without fear of being torn by bushes.The poncho is big enough and can cover the whole body perfectly even if you carry a big backpack.It can fold up and put in a bag when you don't use it, the size is very small and won't take up your precious space.The real power of this poncho is that it has many uses, which makes it very convenient for hiking. It can be used as a ground mat, tarp, water container, carry loose items and more.There are several metal rings lining the hole for rope hookups detached - which can using this as a tarp.I never thought about a ten ounce of things that are so practical.One thing I was impressed by was how quickly it dries after use. I’m tall, but it still covers my knees. Difficult (if not impossible) to slide hood back, off of head, while wearing. Seems to be well made and of good quality, except the Velcro does not align on one side, meaning you either have to let it flap open or close it unevenly on one side.
