Extreme poor durability and reliability
Never a good experience with Logitech. Cheaply made, poor quality, unreliable. Bought this keyboard model KB830 TV 4 years ago. Occasional use. Had to exchange it after 8 months because of increasing failures of certain keys. Received a new replacement. About 8 months later problem started again. Exchanged defective keyboard again for a new replacement. incredibly, about 8-9 months later same problem again! I'm so done with Logitech! Now here's the kicker: The same (crappy) keyboard now costs 750% (sevenhundredfity) more (!!!) then when I purchased it here 4 years ago!!! What justifies that? The definition of a rip off!

One sexy keyboard perfect for KODI MEDIA Center.
excellent product as usual.. the key board is plug and play and perfect for Kodi media centre. 100% reliable and strong connection (no missing keystroke issues with this quality product) like its cheaper but indestructible model the http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Wireless-Touch-Keyboard-K400/dp/B005LDLQXG. This keyboard is nice and sturdy but has a very classy feel about it. only time will tell if it is as strong as the k400 which has been bashed for years and still going (dropped about 5000 times over a course of 4 years still works like the day i got it) .. I only replaced it with this one since it has backlit lights thats all!!.. the lights illuminate on touch and shuts down quickly if not being used.. the built in battery last a long time and i never turn the unit off (which was a concern cause of the illuminated keys but works great) and i only charge it once every month which is excellent.. red light will indicate it requires charging Simple reliable and sexy what more do you need.

Buttons are reluctant to move in sides
Backlight is very useful, however the buttons don't feel sturdy - they tend to move in sides.

Nice board, great for HTPC use, but still not perfect
Bought this as a replacement for a broken Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000 keyboard (all 3 I owned broke either by keys falling off, or by the keyboard not responding any more). With the Logitech, I like the fact that it's rechargeable by USB, and that it uses a Lithium ion battery instead of AAAs (even rechargeable AAAs usually need frequent replacing in my experience). I also like that it's backlit and the tidy setup with a mini dongle that worked out of the box. Setting up the charging station/installing the 8000 was often a pain, and it kept losing connection, so overall this board is less of a headache than the Microsoft one because it just works. There are a couple of things I would change on this board to make it perfect though: 1) On the 8000, the touchpad was on the right with L/R mouse buttons on the left, allowing you to easily scroll and click at the same time, which I really liked. Using one hand to do both on this board seems more awkward. 2) This board does give you the ability to drag and select by holding down a button on the top left edge and scrolling via the touchpad on the right. Nice feature that wasn't possible on the Microsoft board, but positioning of the button on the edge makes it a little awkward. I suppose this won't be used all that often, so is probably fine for the amount of times I'll use it. Very useful feature to have though to allow drag and drop selection of multiple files via the mouse. On the Microsoft board, I had to use the arrow keys if I wanted to do this. 3) This board is smaller than the Microsoft 8000, so harder to type on it without mashing the key next to the one you want to press. (I have big hands though, but I would have preferred the spacing between the keys to be larger). 4) I would have liked some dedicated media keys in a cluser since this is geared towards HTPC use. There are some programmable keys along the top, but a dedicated 'media' cluster of buttons would have been nicer, with play/pause, back, forward, volume, zoom, etc. I realise I'm probably ideally looking for a more reliable version of the Microsoft Wireless Entertainment 8000 at a lower cost, but it was a great board in terms of layout that was just let down by its flimsy keys and reliability of connection. If Logitech were to develop a wireless board that has decent spacing between the keys (like a full size board), with backlit keys, rechargeable via USB cable, connected via a mini USB dongle, with dedicated media keys, a trackpad on the right with mouse keys on the left, and maybe some programmable keys for launching frequently used programs, they'd be onto a winner for all HTPC users.
