If you do not wait until after two pm, it will just go off at two pm. If you mean actually setting the alarm at two am, as in fiddling with the clock in the middle of the night, then you might want a different clock, because the backlight only works if you hold the button down, making operating it difficult. If you wake up at the same time every day, however, then all you would need to do is flip the switch, which would be easy to do, even without light. I never had any trouble setting it, and like the clock, just bear in mind that you can only set it for up to a little under twelve hours away.
