Review: Great sand filter cleaner.👍 - I had noticed that my pool water was not nearly as clean and clear as usual. We always backwash our sand filter as directed from the filter manufacturer,also test water regularly. Started investigating and found out that it was probably time to change the sand in the filter of which there is 300 lbs. Not wanting to do this I found out about this sand filter cleaner ,it sounded great and I thought I would give it a try,boy I was glad I did as it was much cheaper and easier to do than to change the sand. After adding the cleaner as instructed, I turned the filter off for the instructed time, I backwashed the filter and couldn't believe how much dirt and gunk came out of the filter. Over the next two days the pool water was noticably cleaner and clearer. I will buy this again so I can use it to maintain the sand in the filter so the filter can do it's job more efficiently. GREAT PRODUCT 👍👍...

I doubled the dose of this product and let it sit for an hour and a half, I did a backwash for about five minutes, put it in rinse and then filter, all my pressure was back! I highly recommend this product for sand filter system maintenance. If you’re having issues with your return pressure, before you go changing the sand or buying a new pump, use this product!

**Q: How does this work, do i got to open the sand filter valve?**
A: It's very easy to use:1. Turn the pump off. 2. Pour cleaner into the skimmer. 3. Turn the pump on for a few seconds so that the stuff gets into the filter. 4. Turn the pump off again.5. Wait at least an hour for the chemicals to do their thing. 6. Back wash chemical out of filter.

**Q: Can i pour the 8oz directly in the pool? how long should i run the pump before shutting it off so it can work. its a 10k gallon pool.**
A: I fear that if you would pour the contents directly into your pool, you would dilute the chemical concentration of the bottle to such a degree it would be ineffective for cleaning your filter.  I pour it directly into the skimmer with the pump turned off.  I recommend you use a search engine (internet) for "how to clean an above ground swimming pool sand filter" and follow those instructions.  This is what I did and was very satisfied with the results.

**Q: Will this help with cloudy pools?**
A: Yes, it helps the filter to run more efficiently, and does help in clearing up cloudy pool water.

**Q: How often should this be used ?**
A: I have only used it in the spring when the pool stays cloudy

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Seems to work, but don’t expect a huge psi drop in your sand filter

This is our third summer since we opened our 20k gallons in-ground salt water pool. As such, we’ve had about two years worth of using all of the pool equipment, including the sand filter. At the beginning of this summer, I found this product while researching how to properly clean the sand filter, besides backwashing. The product seems to work well, like a really strong soap which is supposed to clean the sand in the filter when you leave it in the filter for a few hours, while backwashing. However, we haven’t experienced what other reviewers here say about the product, that the psi on the filter would drop dramatically after using it. I’ve backwashed with it about three bottles worth of it. But the psi always drops back to the same psi after normal backwashing (same as without using the product). I will continue using it, but I’m not expecting any miracles in terms of a huge drop in psi pressure in the filter. Maybe our sand filter is still too new or wasn’t dirty enough to begin with.
