Amazing
I love them. They are amazing. I got so tired of straining the old way and these make it super convenient for straining and just pouring in general.

Great concept! Compact, neat and clean
These lids are such a great concept! Can be used for KEFIR, and other fermenting projects. The lid is both an airlock lid, and also a strainer! The airlock part of this lid is a two-part lid, the top part is elevated up to allow airflow while sitting above the strainer lid. At first, I thought it was a bit expensive, but I really like the concept, Solves the challenges of the airlock lids with the high-rise attachment. It would be nice to lower the price a little bit because the competition is just to pour through a mesh strainer (not ideal to touch metal), or one of those nine dollar plastic strainers (they don’t work very well, not enough holes so it stops straining quickly). However, this concept is really worth it. It’s fits normally on the shelf with a flat two-piece lid, doesn’t allow floaters into your fermentation, allows airflow. The lid strainer actually works very well because there’s a lot of holes, air can flow through some of the holes while you’re also straining kefir or liquids.

Great! 😊
These fit on a few wide mouth jars I managed to dig out of my canning stuff. So far I have made milk kefir and it works just fine to drain the kefir out but it does need to be gently shaken and sometimes you need to bring the jar back upright so any grains or curds can fall back down the jar. I need to get a kefir grain cage and that may make it easier to remove the grains. In the picture my kefir went through a heat wave and over fermented, separating curds and whey quite a bit ( cheese? lol) . I am also using one to make a ginger bug, it was just fed in the picture and the ginger fell when I moved it to get a picture from being disturbed. I have some concerns a fruit fly got under the cap lid but none seemed to get into the actual jar through the holes. I tightened the cap vent down without fully closing it, in hopes they can’t get into the ginger bug cap anymore and that it can still expel carbon dioxide . I really like these lids and they are pretty self contained and easy to clean. This is my first time making kefir but not ginger bug brew. 😋

An actual strainer works better for milk kefir
They don't really strain milk kefir. They're nice as lids but you're better off with a regular lid at that point. When I used one for the first time, I couldn't get the kefir out. The whey drained however. I suspect they're really great for water kefir but I've never fermented that.

Wonderful product
If you're doing your own Kefir, you need it.

Perfect fermentation tool
These are just what I needed for my kefir production. Holes are too small for straining but I love these caps for the fermentation process.

Great vented lids, not good strainers.....
I agree with some of the 1-star reviews. Milk kefir does not flow through the holes, and I have to switch back to what I was trying to get away from - a nylon strainer into a bowl. I gave them 3 stars because they provide a seal for the jar - keeping "things" out while allowing venting. I don't have to use a cloth or towel and a rubber band on the top of my jar while fermenting, which is great. If you are looking for a vented closure for your jar to replace cheesecloth or a towel, then I can recommend these. If you are preparing milk kefir and plan to use these lids primarily as strainers, I do not recommend. I don't have any experience with water kefir so I can't provide any input on how they function with that.

I. Love. These.
I wasn't sure what to expect with these, but I purchased them because I wanted to give water kefir another try. I've tried other tops for Mason jars and some have been great and others filled me with regret. These are amazing. A few years ago my attempt at water kefir ended early after a disastrous explosion in my pantry. I haven't had the heart to try again, but then I saw these and they seemed promising. What could be better than something that makes the process so simple and uses fewer tools? I'll tell you. Nothing. I have been successfully using these for a couple of weeks now, and I'm not looking back. I'll admit to having a lack of motivation when it comes to the process of making this stuff. Find the plastic utensils, get clean jars, find the plastic sieve... Ugh. No more. Pop these on, wait, take off the lid, pour off the kefir, dump into a new jar, add new liquid, pop on a new top... So simple. My kefir is so active I have needed to charge more often and it's MUCH nicer with these lids. They go into the dishwasher, they screw on and off easily. So simple. So easy. I'm really glad I found these because I'd probably still be contemplating trying kefir again instead of making it.

The Strainers Block up Too Easily
I bought the jars to go with the strainers thinking things were going to be simpler than using a handheld strainer; not so, the strainers block up really easily and you can't get the kefir out. When a handheld strainer blocks up, you use a spoon or spatula to move the grains around to get things flowing; you cannot do this from the inside of the jar, all the jars and strainer kits are left on the shelf unused.

Very useful
Very handy and useful in making Kefir. Fits standard Mason jar securly and with rubber seal inside, there are no leaks or spills. The lid opens to either remove completely (when pouring) or when making kefir - giving the required air without allowing dust or any contaminant into the jar. Pouring from the jar is very easy, by removing the opaque cap - and it strains at the same time. Very easy to clean Highly recommend

Perfectos

Essential for milk and water kefir
Great quality, easy to use, and clean.

Ottimo prodotto, poco pratico e costoso.
Valutate ognuno personalmente.
