I had it wrong and yall had it correct my grandfather gave me that mower and it had a pulley on it that was too big and that's why it kept throwing the belt off but it's fixed now thanks again!!

idler pulley replacement. what else can be said. it worked. there was some mix-up with the part numbers but it all worked out & I got the correct part. just be sure to measure the diameter of the specific pulley you need to save yourself the hassle of having to deal with returns.
