I was going to order these for our local community pol from the normal pool company they order supplies from. As always i looked on Amazon and found the same product for literally half the price. i get new umbrella holders and save $ on the pool budget. this past weekend i had the kids in the area fill them with sand to make them nice and heavy. Great product. (tip for filling. Cut a 2 liter bottle in half and put the nozzle in the hole of the base. Worked great!

Used for umbrella under a table.

I was afraid I jumped the gun ordering this without really looking around much. But now that I have been noticing them in the stores this one is much more substantial than any of the others. Most I saw looked like a light breeze would cause them to tip over.

This is a very basic umbrella stand, however is sturdy. It looks okay, although it is not fancy... my patio table is also very basic therefore a designer umbrella stand would not be appropriate for my setup. The stand works fine (I inquired ahead of time to make sure that my umbrella pole would fit into the opening because the specs don't really give this info about the size of the opening). I filled the stand with sand, which was an undertaking and I had to purchase a funnel, but that is not really a problem of the product. In general I am pleased with the stand, though because it is plastic I can't really say that I love it. It serves its purpose, therefore earns a good rating.

does not hold umbrella well in windy conditions

This base meets our needs on wooden decking perfectly. We filled with sand using a water bottle with the bottom cut off to make funnel. We got almost a full bag of play sand into the base but it takes 2 people. The screw holds the umbrella pole securely but we have this under a balcony height table which also holds the umbrella in place. I love the handle and it is very easy to sweep any dirt off while I am sweeping the deck. Don't know if we will have mildew buildup over time but it should be easy to clean.

just what we were looking for--fits under the table supports so that we can use the umbrella in the table --- other stands were too high--provides enough weight with sand added to support a 10 foot diameter umbrella
