Great book with lots of information and great photos

Great book, especially for beginners! It’s well written and contains many of photos to help follow along.

Two years in to pottery, and I didn’t think I would want a book, but I’m very glad I bought this one. Extremely thorough, but not tedious. Well-versed, but simple for the beginner. Beautiful photos, great ideas, easy to follow organization. From set-up to finishing touches. I’m glad to be making room for this in my home.

It is only one book of course, but it is VERY brief on each section and I think of it as more of an "idea" book with a "reminder" of how to do something. Photos are good.

Good Good to learn about pottery.

This book is a good starting point for one who wishes to see nearly all aspects and techniques of the pottery spectrum. It's affordably priced and very well illustrated. Note, this book is a jumping off point and very useful to the beginner and medium level potter.

Pottery book is incredibly insightful including numerous clay, glazing and firing techniques. Pages include short descriptions followed by step by step instructions on the various techniques plus lots of colorful imagery. Book is very easy to follow and read. Great for a classroom environment!

I am a beginning pottery student, and this has been a great help. It covers many basics, and italso provides a lot of inspiration.

This is for total beginners, but it is a really great book! If you know nothing about it, and want to understand what is involved, this book introduce you to every aspect of pottery making, from types of clay, how to modify and transform it, all the building techniques, glazings and decorating techniques, all firing types, etc... I think it is a very exhaustive presentation if you want to know what clay is all about, and find some kind of direction and what you will want to investigate further. A great primer, beautifully presented; a great inspiration!
