Worked for me!
A little over a year ago, we bought a house with a pool. Never having had a pool, I read numerous books, watched videos, and went to local pool store's 'pool school'. Much to my frustration, I struggled with green water, and my free chlorine was always low, even though I added appropriate amounts of chlorine. My parameters were otherwise perfect according to the blue box test kit, which doesn't test for CYA. I finally bought some test strips that tested for more parameters, and found that my CYA was off the charts. I retested several times with different products, just to be sure, and confirmed that it was very high. I figure the previous owners just dumped bags of pool stabilizer into it without knowing what they were doing. After researching, I discovered that most sources recommended draining the pool and refilling, (something that I really didn't want to do), so I decided I'd give the CYA Remover a shot, in spite of mixed reviews. I followed the directions carefully, and made sure my water was warm enough, then dumped it in. I didn't add any chlorine to the pool during this time, and I removed my solar copper ionizer, as I emailed natural chemistry and they told me not to use it during the process. After 10 days or so, there was a noticeable drop in CYA, and after two weeks it was where it needed to be. Once the remover did it's job, I shocked the pool and it's ready to go. Clear and clean with no draining! If you are facing draining your pool due to CYA, I highly recommend trying this first.

Don’t waste your money
Followed the directions to a T. Did not move the needle on my cya at all. Also noticed after the fact that everything in this kit was expired. Don’t waste your time with this product.

Kinda worked but it was too cold.
So I went to close my Intex pool this year and had neglected to check the Chen’s for a month or two since no one was using it. I had been using chlorine pucks to take care of the sanitation which steadily raises CYA over the season. Mine was well over 100ppm, probably 120-130 or more, and my chlorine was at least 10ppm at the time of treatment.I checked the water temp which was about 68 degrees, and began the process by adding the chlorine neutralizer and allowing it to deplete the extremely high chlorine. After a couple of hours I checked it and it was still high. I was worried I wouldn’t have enough to keep it at 1-2ppm as the directions said. So I added the rest of the bottle of neutralizer. After 4 hours or so of soaking the treatment in warm water I rechecked chlorine and there wasn’t a drop in the water. I actually had to add a touch to get it back to 1ppm.After adding the treatment agent I set the pool to stir for 4 hours a day, and let it sit. A week later I tested the pool and it had come down to around 80-100ppm CYA which was good, but not quite as low as I wanted it. My issue was cold nights which lowered my water temperature to nearly 60 which I believe prevented the treatment from working any longer.I went ahead and winterized anyway and left my pool up for the winter. If you are using this kit, I wouldn’t wait until colder weather to try it, and I advise everyone to avoid chlorine pucks for sanitation needs. Salt water systems and or liquid chlorine is the way to go even though it’s somewhat more labor intensive. Avoid Trichlor products unless your CYA is super low, and discontinue once it’s at 30-50ppm. Get a good drop test kit don’t rely on strips.

Worked well, solved the CYA imbalance
This cleared up the CYA chemical imbalance in my pool (level was 150+), and I avoided needing to completely drain and refill (which was the recommendation from two local pool supply companies that had tested the water).I had been fighting algae for 5-6 months, scrubbing daily (or nearly) to remove it, adding chlorine, fixing alkalinity, etc. After using this product the imbalance went away in just over a week, and the pool has been stable now for three months with no issues. This came with a chlorine neutralizer, but I did not need it as the amount in my pool was already nearly zero (I actually added a small amount of chlorine when I added the CYA kit since it recommended there be some). It took 6-7 days before I could tell any difference on the CYA level, and then all of a sudden on day 8 it showed a marked difference. You'll need to be patient -- on day 5 I was feeling like a fool for falling for a scam product and had almost resigned myself to draining the whole pool.

After many failed products this one is a big time winner
Cyanuric acid is a very poorly understood problem. I have been told so many solutions all of which have failed. My pool is resurfaced, with a new filter and pump so that is not the problem. In 3 days my CYA went from 190 to 50. I just had it verified at my regular pool company. Based on the directions I was surprised this product did so well in just 3 days. My pool was too big for the product. But it worked. I strongly recommend you follow the directions. There are two chemicals. One requires you mix it in water which is at least 90 degrees for 4 hours. My hot water is 110. I put 4 gallons at 110, and then one of tap water which leveled it out at 100 degrees. During the 4 hours I allowed this to activate I allowed the first chemical to circulate in the pool for 4 hours. All I can say is this is a must product if you have a CYA problem.

Ineffective
As others have stated, even following the instructions to a "T" and having perfectly balanced pool water with chlorine reading on the low side, this product attempts to conquer what really can't be done without draining your pool. An expensive lesson in pool chemistry, cyanuric acid is basically built up in your pool from use of pool tabs. They are stabilized to slow the robbing of your chlorine by the sun but after a few years the concentration of "CYA" is to the point your chlorine will lose it's effectiveness. Bite the bullet, wait for temps below 80°, and drain the pool. Until then, try using unstabilzed chlorine to minimize increasing CYA concentration.
