Perfect fit, don’t be fooled by the china knock offs, these are the real ones!

Made the mistake of buying a cheap knock off first. Finally bought the aerocatch, product is so much more well-built. Even though it's still made of plastic it feels heavier and stronger, and works well. Get aerocatch, not the cheap stuff, you won't regret it.

I installed an aftermarket hood on my 2015 Mustang and was nervous about depending solely on the factory latch to secure it. I ordered and installed the AeroCatch Latches so the hood would be secured at both edges as well as the center. Install was a bit tricky with 2 layers of fiberglass with a 2 inch gap between that needed to be drilled and cut. I found the best way for me to install was to use the factory rubber hood stop locations for the pins. After securing the pins, i put an adhesive dot on top of each pin, lowered the hood until contact was made, and where the dot stuck to the hood underside layer was where I drilled my holes all the way through the hood. I then used to a Dremel to slot the hole front to back on the under layer to provide travel clearance for the pin as the hood comes completely down. I also clearanced the hole on the hood top to allow the pin to protrude above the hood while closed. This gave me the center point for my latch to draw an outline on the hood surface. Then it was back to the Dremel to cut it out so the latch would recess; lots of cut, fit, cut fit... until it fit perfectly. Installed the latches, adjusted the pins vertical height, and done! Could not be happier. These latches look awesome and contribute to the overall look of the car. Best of all, they are functional as intended.

Install would be easier with templates but I just made my own. Love they way they look and how tight they hold the hood down. I was worried the amount of material that needed to be removed would compromise the hood but its really sturdy. Will purchase again for my next car.

When I got this thing in the mail, I instantly decided we were going to return it because it wasn’t aluminum like the ad implied. However this is WELL BUILT. we broke 2 sets of the crappy ones on our race cars and wanted a “real” set. This one seems right. The plastic is the same feel as the polymer of a Glock pistol compared to the plastic of a soda bottle like the $30 ones. And the biggest improvement is the aluminum rod retracts fully unlike the crappy ones. 10/10 would recommend. The only reason I did 4/5 is the ad implies it’s aluminum.

I can only comment on the looks of these as I have not installed or used these. They do look very nice and are of good quality materials. I am not a huge fan of plastic holding down my hood but I have quite a few friends that have been using these for a while with no failures.

Very good quality both finish and operation. The cheaper version was 1/6th of the price but will probably also last only 1/6th of the lifetime of this more expensive version.. steel posts instead of aluminium. Good robust operating mechanism.

Good quality just install it lot better conception then a lot ofter offer on internet below 30$. Recommand it (no long use review )
