We use CFL in our home office and hate them. They do not last as long as they should, they often fall apart when they get old. They "hang out" till we can take them to the town transfer station, they sometimes break then we have to deal with "hazmat" issues.Oh, back to this bulb. We ordered Warm White because we prefer it. Our office has many computers and it is a better light than the harsh white light. Yes, you have to understand it is not as bright. Put these in our cans, recessed lights in the ceiling they preformed outstanding! The cans are IC or in contact lights, that can and do touch insulation. For that reason they have sensors if they get to hot. These bulbs cast 100W of light, in a can that only supports 60W. It has been 5 days now and with them on all day they do not create heat that would turn the light off with the recessed light safety feature.As far as the bulb, standard socket, just like the "outlawed" 100 watt bulbs. A better bulb with good heft and a strong plastic shell and firm mount for the supporting electronics. We did not use this in a dimmed system. Our power is standard 110, actually 120 volt (single phase) standard home wiring.We have tested several LED bulbs from 60w to 100w. This brand looks like a bulb, acts like a bulb, and is a great price.We will be back for more, would like to see a "Value Pack" of 6 lights from the same vendor.Update to above.
