I ordered this for my 4 year old grandson for his birthday present. He had ridden one a friend owned and he really wanted his own. He was so excited when it arrived he almost couldn't contain himself. It came with a full charge and he was able to ride it right out of the box, so Mom let him give it a go inside before she set up the blue tooth apps on her phone. After he had spun it around the carpet a few times, she set out to download apps. It turns out there are 2 apps to download, not just one. One controls the lights and music while the other is the mode settings for beginner, intermediate and advanced. These were fairly easy to set up once she realized there were 2 separate apps and not just the one. It wasn't long before he was riding around like a pro. He wears his bike helmet for safety outside. The different modes max out the speed it can go so he rides in beginner mode which tops out at about 4-4.5 mph. His older brother rode it in advanced and got it up to 10.7 mph so it is possible to get it going faster than the 9 mph listed on the box, tho not prudent to go any faster than you are comfortable going. My oldest grandson face-planted after trying to slow down from his little zoomfest ... good thing he knew how to Parkour roll and didn't break anything!

Super frustrating!We purchased the first one, charged it until the light was green. Unplugged the charger and the hoverboard still wouldn’t turn on. The only time it turned on was when it was plugged into the charger.So we reached out to Amazon, and they sent out a replacement. We got the replacement, plugged it in, charged it until the light was green and it won’t turn on either. The replacement one is broke just like the first one! I reached out to the company, but I haven’t heard anything back yet, not even a confirmation that they received my complaint. Super frustrating especially when you’re buying it specifically for your kid (because the weight limit is something like 165lbs just an FYI) and they’re broken. If I hear back from the company within the next couple of days then I will update my review. But as it stands I would say: STAY FAR AWAY! There’s no guarantee any of them will work on arrival. Better to buy another brand altogether if you want to err on the side of caution because all of these have their QC stickers on them like they have been tested and approved by someone in their quality control team. Idk what’s going on where they build these but something is obviously wrong if we keep getting broken or dead ones and they’ve ‘passed’ their quality control test.

Hoverboard has held up well - charging takes several hours(6-7 hrs) but decent run time. Kiddo uses this indoors only even though its rated for outdoors so your experience may vary.Bluetooth works as well.Has 90 day manufacturer warranty!

Im 40 i have no idea what these were. Reviews had me scared. My 6year old got for his birthday was a pro in an hour. My 12 year old was jealous took her two hours. My 4 year old learned in 1.5 hours and my two year old just walked over and rode it to the kitchen. All the kids love it. Takes 6 hours to charge for 1hr ride time. Thats fine wish it was better though. But is good for kids all ages. From 30lbs to 150. My wife gets on it and she has trouble but it rolls her around. 3 months in and not one trouble. Kids oddly love music playing from it. Really is worth it. Now i have to get more for xmas lucky me! Update a year later this thing is still going strong for all and now i have 3. They have lost some interest but when they do grab it they go after it. Even better if you have big open space to ride. If you have small area may want to consider an outside toy.

This is the second Hover-1 hoverboard that I purchased in three weeks. The first one would not come on at all, soI returned it for this one. Low and behold, this one does the exact same thing!! It was on charge all night, still would not come on. The only time it would come on, was when it was on the charger. When you'd unplug it, it would instantly turn off. Same exact issue as the other Hover-1 hoverboard that I purchased two weeks ago. I will not buy another Hover-1 item. Not worth the hassle of purchasing or the waste of money. If you're going to buy a hoverboard, go to your local store and get one. I do not recommend buying this.

First time I got on it I didn’t even want to get of ! I highly recommend it .

We bought one for our 10 year old for Christmas. Daddy charged it up the reccomended time and we wrapped an empty box for under the tree. Christmas day, it would die as soon as unplugged, no matter what we tried. Emailed Amazon and they sent a replacement immediately and refunded once the original was dropped off at a UPS office to be returned. Second one arrived right away and charged right up. It has lights and connects to Bluetooth so the kids love riding it while playing their favorite songs. We live on a dairy farm and it goes on the gravel driveway, paved barn floors and across yards and pastures. We will be buying two more for the younger siblings.

Do not waste your time and money. Ordered two my for my nieces: charged them overnight, pressed the power button nothing. Trouble shooting: held power button down 10 seconds nothing. Did this multiple times. Both not working. Why would the manufacturer think people would keep hoverboards that do not work?! Super frustrating and a big pain in the neck to repackaged and send back
