Start as the frail sorcerer, the marksman rogue, or the tough-as-nails warrior and devise a battle strategy that suits your character's skills and weaknesses. Descend deeper into the catacombs to stamp out evil, buffer your experience, and pick up stronger weapons and spells--you're going to need them. As if that weren't already enough to keep you playing for quite some time, this package includes the Hellfire authorized expansion pack, which provides even better weapons, more magical items, deeper levels, and a new character class: fearless monk. If you're the type who doesn't like to walk alone through the valley of the shadow of death, log on to Battle.net, where you can find up to three other players to join your party for free.

Spin on a classic!
As a lover of the classic Diablo, it was WILD to learn about the Hellfire expansion! It really refreshed the game for us! It can be a hair glitchy but that was kind of expected since they came out of two different companies.

classic that isn't quite as fun anymore
This game was a lot more fun when Windows was first coming out. The expansion was a nice addition though, and it really does add something more to the game. I suggest downloading the un official patch and gaining access to the other 2 classes as well.

Got it because i want it for my collection. good luck playing it though (color is all messed up in game, I'm sure there's a patch some where out there on the web). Glad i finally found it, and with the expansion too (which i didn't even know the first had one)!

hellfire (diablo add on)
interesting idea...however cant play on the net with it...and thats 90% of the game there.

Don't buy a new copy.
So I spent more money to buy an unopened copy because for some reason, I thought there would be a install key that I could put on my Battle.net account to have a digital copy to download anytime. That was not the case.The game is still great and it only requires you run the game with admin privileges to tweak some settings on the game due to graphical issues and in order to run properly on anything that is past Windows XP.Overall, just buy a cheap used copy and spend a lot less money.

Classic
Diablo is a classic video game. I played the hellfire expansion a long time ago and just had the urge to play it again. The best part of the expansion is being able to share items with different characters.

Good game, but many issues for the hellfire edition
Diablo 1 is a great game, but hellfire has many issues.Also, if you wish to play in multiplayer LAN on Diablo 1, you must route your IPX connections to LAN if you have a newer computer than XP.tutorial on how to install multiplayer for diablo 1 hellfire - [...]
