Salt Water Sandalsby Hoy Shoe The Original Sandal

These are clearly knock offs. I ordered a different color and size for my younger daughter that arrived in a Salt Water shoe box properly packaged. These were literally thrown into a huge brown box with no proper packaging and say "Made in USA". Non knock off Salt Water Sandals are made in China. I've bought multiple pairs over the years. Amazon really needs to figure out a way to monitor the quality of name brand products because the amount knock offs trying to pass for the real deal is outrageous. Will be returning.

I read all the reviews prior to ordering because I had no idea what size to wear. I ordered a 8 big kid (Womens 10) and I usually wear a 9-9.5 in most shoes. These fit perfect!!! If your in between sizes like I am I would definitely size up. They're not too large like some people say. I will definitely be ordering in other colors once more become available!!!! So comfortable.

Be aware that all Saltwaters are stiff and smallish when they first come out of the box. Soak them in a sink until the leather is good and wet, about an hour. Put them on your child while wet and have them wear them for a few hours to break them in. Straight from the box, they will likely cause blisters. But if you soften them up and break them in, this is a durable and beautiful sandal that will last through many kids! The light colored ones start to look shabby before the darker ones. I have a pair of adult brown ones and I just passed them on to my sister in law after getting 15 years of use out of them!

We LOVE these sandals. They are super durable. I buy them for my kids every other summer - for the first summer, I buy them a size too big, and they last for two years (and would last much longer if they didn't grow out of them). We have walked in these for miles and miles, and have used them in lakes and rivers. My kids have used them as water shoes, and they don't come apart at all. I have a pair for myself, and I have also used them in the water. They do stretch out after getting totally submerged, but not enough to destroy the fit - mine felt a little bit looser after fully submerging them and then walking around, but not enough to need to buy another pair (so if they arrive and feel a little tight - maybe try submerging them and then walking in them till they dry.)As far as the fit, I went to the Saltwater website and used their calculator to determine what size my kids needed - it was super helpful. I love the colors available. We've tried the gold, the tan, the navy, and the rose gold, and they all look great. I will keep putting my kids in these shoes for as long as they will let me - they are the perfect summer sandal!A quick note on the packaging - when I have ordered these in previous years, they have come in a box, and arrived in great condition. When I ordered them this year (June 2018), the shoe boxes arrived in a bag, and were completely demolished. It's a good thing the sandals are so durable, because otherwise they would have been totally destroyed. The shoe boxes were squished and torn apart, and the sandals were just floating around in the bag by themselves. Super disappointing. Five stars for the shoe, and negative five stars for the packaging (and this is the first time I've ever cared enough about the packaging to mention it - sometimes Amazon's packaging is great, sometimes it's not so great, but this time it was truly terrible). I absolutely love these sandals! They're so cute and comfortable. I picked up the black, red and gold. I might be back for another pair, because we all know a girl can never have too many shoes! I normally wear a 7-7 1/2. I ordered them in an 8 and they fit perfectly.I highly recommend soaking them in some warm water for about 5 minutes, and them wearing them until they dry. It's the perfect way to break them in and allow them to mold to your foot.Updated 5/2017: I love these sandals so much I now own 8 pairs. They all look just as beautiful as the day I bought them! They're incredibly comfortable and hold up beautifully.

This is our second season ordering these gold saltwater sandals for my 5 year old. They are a perfect neutral that go with everything! They can be dressed up or dressed down, they are slip resistant, she can wear them in the water, and she can't take them off by herself...perfection! Tip - Wear them in a warm bath when you first get them and don't take them off until they dry, to break them in. We forgot to do that this time around and she had a little cut from where the strap rubbed above her ankle. Also, use a magic eraser to clean the foot bed...that part can get dirty quickly!

So far so good! I hope mine are real after reading a few “I got fakes” reviews.Last year I ordered a pair of salt water sandals from Nordstrom, and I LOVED THEM. I took them to Portland Oregon and was in rivers, the ocean, and all over the city. Then my dog chewed them up when summer was over:(This year I paid about the same price but ordered them on Amazon to get them quickly.I wear a women’s 9, I ordered a 7 like last year. When you get them, they will seem way too tight. Salt water sandals (in my box from last year, it actually included instructions, my amazon box didn’t) actually recommends you soak the shoe in water, then put them on your feet and buckle them. Walk around until they dry - the leather will stretch and custom fit you or your child’s feet perfectly. I just ran my pair under the tub faucet for a minute and slide them on. It totally changes the way they fit, so try that before returning
