Wonderful brown
What a wonderful brown. it's got tons and tons of gorgeous shading, and a dark, smoky, toffee brown. Basically pelikan smoky quartz at 1/3 the price. It doesn't feather on trash paper, even with a super wet 1.1 stub. Dry times are fast. Showthrough is moderate and bleedhthrough is minimal, but there (only on aforementioned trash paper with wet stub) It's a wonderfully wet flowing, well lubricated ink, too. I don't normally like browns (apart from noodlers golden brown) but this is a heavy shader indeed, very professional, very pretty, very well behaved. It really does remind me of black tea that's oxidized in the cup for a while. The 30ml is basically a "trial" bottle. You really can't go wrong for the price, just buy some!

Great Ink, Great Service
Pen Boutique has great delivery: free and timely. Would buy from them again. Lie de The is the kind of ink that reminds you of why you write with a fountain pen. The subtle, but delicious shading, and the soft, bronze tones are expressive and almost antique. They project your creativity and feeling in a way that inspires you as you write. One who might read your journal or correspondence could know something about you by your word choice and sentence structure, but equally from your penmanship and expression from the ink itself. If you write with Lie de The, your expressiveness will be full and rich. This is not so much a brown, as a bronze color, with lighter saturation and just a hint of green. It is a beautiful ink, and writes wet, but in control. I have a dry-writing nib on my m800, and this ink is perfectly matched for my pen. Buy it, you will not regret it.

Really nice color
Beautiful, rich medium brown with a slight gold tone. Flows really well, even in the cheap Parker Beta I'm using it in; looking forward to trying it in the better pens I have on order. Just to follow up: 1st, I think the color on the box does this ink a slight disservice as it misses the golden tone. 2nd, I've experienced the ink really darkening notably over time, to like a dark chocolate color; this darkening is also happening with the Vert Empire as well though not so bad. Both are in cheap Parker Betas so I'm thinking it may be due to the loose seal of the cap letting air in and the exposure to air is causing the ink to darken. I just filled a new Baoer 388 with it and it's the original golden brown color I remember; washed and refilled the Beta and it's golden again, too. Have filled a new Baoer 801 with e Vert and it's the proper greyish green. The caps on both of these are much tighter fitting than the Betas so I'll see how they do with the ink and report back in a few weeks.

Nice alternative to darker browns, and black, inks.
This is a lovely brown with hints of green and yellow--which is a nice departure from the reddish browns I'm used to. It's also a medium brown shade that doesn't read as black when used with a fine nib. It handles nicely on different papers (Muji, Hammermill Laser, Tomoe River, marker paper, etc.), with minimal feathering. Shading is subtle and attractive. It flows nicely in soft-nib pens (no railroading), and hasn't dried out or clogged them up so far. If Lie De The was waterproof, the rating would be five stars.

Great ink and cheap!
I was kinda new to fountain pens and dipping pens so I was looking for a good but not expensive ink to try out. I was originally using a very cheap ink (almost$1 for 30mL) but it always get stuck and hard to use. This ink was recommended by a friend and the price is acceptable so I bought one just for a try. It was smaller than I expected since I had using a large bottle of ink for a long time but has a cute bottle and a place on the bottle specifically designed to set pen. The brown color is nice and elegant and it almosr never get stuck! Once I put the fountain pen full of ink away and not using it for a week and after that when I try to use it again it get stuck, which is quite common, but it became normal again just after a few gentle shake! Which is much better than I expected. I would recommend this ink to any pen user!

Another Excellent Ink from J. Herbin
I use this ink in my Wedgwood brown fountain pen. I like brown inks (but not to the exclusion of all other colors) and J. Herbin inks are a favorite of mine. This ink flows well, is easy to clean and, if you have a medium nib as I do, you can get some shading. It is a conservative color so it is not a big leap from black, blue or blue-black to go to this ink. If you have been thinking about trying another ink color in your fountain pen, but have some trepidation, try this ink. You don't have to get an entire 30ml bottle either. This ink can be had in cartridge form at: http://www.amazon.com/J-Herbin-Refills-Fountain-Cartridge/dp/B00A6VZNR8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1422027102&sr=8-2&keywords=lie+de+the+cartridge

Not quite the *wow* of other J. Herbin inks, but nice.
This is a very nice, brown ink. It flows wonderfully and leaves little residue on the nib. I was expecting more from the color after reading other reviews and having purchased other J. Herbin inks though, but what can one really expect from brown?

The color is beautiful mix of brown yellow and green. It's a 30ml bottle. I use it in my lamy safari medium nib. The flow is wet and there is quite a bit of shading. The color is beautiful brown and looks absolutely stunning on cream or slightly yellowed paper.

Inchiostro eccezionale.

Actually it is pretty good for a Sepia tone.. its dark and looks good.. I use it with "SCRIZ ® Shine Collection Brass Body-PEN" Ok after a prolonged use here is the usage review.. 5staars to 2 stars the bottle is beautiful.. so I will use it to fill some other ink later.. Color is good but at times it goes light..and at times it goes dark..no consitency.. sometimes apprears almost black... so it may be a good thing for field sketching and roughwork. Very ... mind you very bad for flex nib fountain pen... it does not perform on calligraphy ...very very bad.. I ruined so many handmade sheets on this..... very bad.
