Great knife for low price
Good quality for the money. A little back story on this knife. The first knife that came was defective because the frame lock was a bit to long and therefore made it too difficult to release with thumb had to use a screwdriver to release it. I returned the first knife and then asked for a replacement and the frame lock releases much easier. I must admit that there is a bit of finesse and thumb strength needed to release the frame lock and fold down the knife. This is because the part of the frame lock where you put your thumb to release it protrudes only slightly outside of the knife frame itself which does not give your thumb enough surface area to push on the frame lock. But I believe this is a good thing because it reduces possibility of accidently pushing the release to easily and causing the knife to fold down unintentionally and causing injury. The knife is very sharp so it will handle most cutting jobs. Very well designed and sturdy.

Super nice knife at a great price
Went with what a brand of knife I didn't know and was super disappointed. I can always rely on Gerber knives. This one is just the right size with a good grip that can come out at the flick of my wrist. Just what I was looking for.

Good knife for the price point
Looks great, good knife for the price point. Sharp and capable for EDC. Initially it was difficult to open with just one hand as it was very stiff and thumb stud felt uncomfortable. After using for a few days it did become much easier to open with one hand, although I still need to close using both hands

Liner lock is a nightmare or a safety benefit
Blade: Durable, sharp, does the job. Frame/handle: Thin, light, a good width for grip with an average sized hand. One side is grip molded plastic, the other is smooth metal. Liner lock: Terrible. Almost sits flush with the handle and so rigid to disengage. Takes two hands every time with fingernails to even push the lock. Stubby fingers might have difficulty unlocking. Open action: Also takes two hands. A little stiff, the knurls are positioned a little bit too high for my own thumb to flick. Durability: For a very light knife, holds up so far. Definitely doesn't have the thick multilayered handles like many kershaws. The blade is strong but the liner lock was engineered to also be an exposed part of the handle rather than underneath a grip plate. That design doesn't really affect durability but it definitely reduces weight. If you want a knife is very difficult to unlock for safety reasons and super thin and light, this is for you. If you are in an environment where you gotta open and close it every few minutes, this is not a good idea.

Easy to open/close with one hand...I got lucky!
Works as intended. Knife can get opened in one hand and closed the same way. Watch the video closely While some of you may have gotten a stiffer knife from the manufacture, it is still important to work the mechanism as many times as you can. A drop of oil wouldn't hurt. Do not try to disassemble the mechanism. I received another Gerber knife a while back that was VERY stiff to open. But after a hundred (yes, a hundred!) forced openings, she spread out nicely for me. I used gun oil (CLP) to lube her up. Patience and practice. It's a good knife for the price point. I go through a lot of Chinese made knives, as is this one. Civivi Knives (also China) has some great ones with easier open and close mechanisms. As does Remette (yet another Chinese knife). My three cents: Keep the blade sharp. A dull knife, believe it or not, is more dangerous than a sharp one. Remembe Gibbs' Rule from NCIS TV show: "Never go anywhere without a knife." Cheers!

Poorly built knife! Ladies don't buy!!!
THIS KNIFE IS TERRIBLE. I cannot see this knife being useful in a life or death situation. I honestly can't get the knife open, even with 2 hands (and I am not a dianty lady) AND when I do get it open, I CANT shut the thing. I would love to sit and "break it in" by opening it a hundred times but my hands hurt after testing it 5 times. The thumb knobs are in a very odd placement. The side clip already had some of the chrome chipped off. Only good thing about it was that it came sharp (like knives are supposed to). I already own the 'Gerber Swagger Knife, Assisted Opening [31-001709]' which seems to be much better in the opening (still tough) and closing mechanisms. I won't be buyimg another Gerber knife.

Ich kenne Gerber als solide Schmiede für Funktion..... dies Teil ist definitiv als Schrott zu bezeichnen . Sofort wieder zurück geschickt.
