Review: Stylish well made carafe - I actually purchased this to use for ½ & ½ creamer for coffee. It’s working beautifully for that purpose. I was under the impression that the cap used a spring type mechanism to close itself; it does not. The cap is attached with a non-spring hinge and must be closed using light pressure on the dome with your thumb after use. I don’t find this an inconvenience as it’s no more effort than having to open and close a carton of creamer. I cannot speak how well it insulates the creamer, as I do not leave it out, but I can say that the quality of the build seems to be very solid and durable. It has a very effective seal made of silicone, and closes easily using very light pressure on top of the cap. A narrow bristle type brush will be required for an effective and thorough cleaning as the opening is relatively small.
